  3. FACTORY.WAD

It is said that the old factory on the outskirts of town is still run by zombie employees. They say that the old workers went insane and started to slaughter each other a few years back. Few escaped and barricaded the place in hopes that nothing else would get out, and that nothing would go in. The 3 or 4 survivors said that the toxic waste within the structure caused the men to suddenly become overly paranoid and "loco". They began to kill each other, but something kept bringing the dead men back. Nothing ever dies forever in there..."sounds cool!" You say to yer friends. "Let's check it out, unless y'all are scared or something?" "Hell no!" your friends reply, "Let's do it." When you reach the towering building you tear down the door and enter...

In making this level I used some techniques that I like to see in D-Match level...TRAPS! I have made two different traps (The Crusher and Incinerator) which are activated by a player. When yer opponent is stuck in one of 'em activate it by triggering the sensor triplines. (They look like two square pillars with lights...) and watch/hear your pitiful friend either become 2 inches thick or slowly cook. >-) Do not be discouraged to get the BFG, even though you're walking into a trap. Because if you can kill the other guy before he/she can activate the incinerator you will be set free...free with a BFG under your arm...time for a couple of easy frags... :)

  7. Frag o' Mania - a DeathMatch WAD for Doom1

A circular arena with 4 raised areas accessible by stairs in the center of the arena. On the out- skirts of the arena, are 4 watch towers with outer "ready rooms" where players start. The raised areas also have hidden alcoves where former human snipers covered with vines start out. On the + side, after you kill the former humans you can use the alcoves to hide yourself and possibly find a little goodie behind the back wall! Try using -respawn to make it a little more interesting. I have, though, included a response file with the params that this wad was meant to be played with: fragoprm.txt

  10. Duel.WAD

There is nothing better than the stale smell of Gasoline, the oil stained chain, the grime that coats the sides with pride. The chainsaw is truly, a REAL man's best friend. I have been disappointed by the fact that I have never seen a D-Match level based around the art of chainsaw warfare, so I created DUEL.WAD. After passing through a narrow passage over HellWay Dam, you and your opponent meet in a small cage with just a pistol and a chainsaw. There is a Beserk Pack awaiting the quicker man in the center, otherwise wits and speed is all you have to survive.

TRY THIS ONE AT ALL THE SKILL LEVELS! EACH SKILL LEVEL IS A DIFFERENT GAME! I suggest, before playing this one against someone, to take a tour of the level. There are lots of switches that do different things. Most of the switches control something local, so it shouldn't be hard to figure out. But..If you want to know all the secrets with out exploring, consult the switch table below. The light switches located throughout the level are the Gargoyle Head (OFF) and the Lion Head (ON). To activate them, just walk into them.

I am addicted to DOOM, plain and simple. But when it comes to DeathMatch, that is an even more compulsive obsession of mine. This was was my attempt to bring in the great qualities of my favorite DeathMatch level, E1M4 and combine those with the excellent characteristics of E1M5 -- those set my addiction into DeathMatch deeply embedded in my soul. I hope you true hardcore DeathMatchers enjoy this DM Wad.

Six not too large Deathmatch Levels. Built for high frag counts, not hide and seek games. Oh, and all you BFG Fans out there.. you won't find any here...

**** IMPORTANT **** READ THIS ! ---> The Exits are hidden! But they show up on the map right from the beginning. It shouldn't be hard finding them. For the Exit on Level 5.. look at the ceiling!

I also used these WADs to experiment with DEUTEX, so don't be surprised if there are some unnecessary graphics in there :) That's it, have fun!

  21. Every Man for Himself

Okey Dokey, This level did not have a plot... but hey I guess I can't disapoint my followers (SURE THING! ;) So I will make one up now...

Well just after all the chaos up at the UAC bases... *** You are sitting at home with your marine buddies, watching the ball game with a can o' beer and a bowl full of pretzels, when all of a sudden this really big dimensional holey portaly thing opens opens up in your living room. You and you team look deep into swirling pit of spiritual energy. Pure evil drips from the portal on to your fine persian rug. "So what the hell is this?" you ask your dumbfounded pals. "Looks to be an inter-dimensional portal..." replies Briggs. "...obviously leads to another dimension...or maybe even HELL itself!" he countinues as he studies the rift carefully. "So are we gonna jump through it and reak havoc and destruction or not?" you ask. "Can't see any reason not too." says Briggs as he gazes deeper into the portal. "What the hell, lets..." Jackson interupts. "Hey...What 'bout weapons" "Everyone has their hand gun, right?" "Sure" Briggs answers. "That is all we need, Don't worry these other dimensions are always stocked with a large array of guns... and hey I bet they've even probably got a chainsaw and some body armour down there too!" You say as you see the marines morale lifting. "So what about it... lets go in!" You and your friends jump into the portal one by one. You go in last...as you fall you feel yourself black out. You awaken to the hot putrid air of HELL. None of your buddies are anywhere to be seen. You push yourself up from the wooden floor and and look at the large satanic symbols carved into a huge block of what looks to be marble. It glows eerily making you feel quite afraid of what you have gotten yourself into. Then you see it. Briggs is staggering around near another of the large marble monuments. You call to him. He looks but says nothing. As you begin to walk over to him he reaches to his belt and withdraws his pistol begins to sight at your forehead. "Holly Shit Briggs...It's me.." you yell but it is cut off but the sound of a gunshot. You feel the air whizz past your head and hear the bullet ricochet of the marble behind you. You begin to run and hide behind the marble block. "Shit" you think to yourself. Maybe the portal has screwed with his head or maybe it is just HELL itself. One thing for sure Briggs is not in the fraggin' mood for baseball anymore and you may have some other friends with the same attitude. Looks like you are going to have to blast your buddies in order to stay alive... "First things first, gonna have to lose this damn pistol..." you think aloud.

  22. EP

    DEATHMATCH EPISODE

Made for when Stefan and I only had 386's, so as a

result most levels are very small. We have since

upgraded, but still play them as they are real good

    for massive amounts of combat.

There is also an excessive amount of monsters, on

some levels, the idea there was to off set any

advantage with weapons across each level.

With a choice of exit, the left is always the secret.

  23. Pond of the Deathmatch Crater

This outside arena is so complicated that I had to block some areas from visplane areas that happened in corners of the level. I mean "complicated" as in there are a lot of 2 sided linedef around. DEU's node builder could barely handle it.

This level includes a giant pond with a "storm drain" room adjacent to it. It also has a drop hole with an invisibility sphere in of it, so you can drop down in surprise and shoot something.

I know you may have seen other "pool" or "pond" levels, but this one is way different.

Expect this WAD to be in Houses 1.3 and to look much better in that DOOM 2 WAD.

One other thing; EVERYTHING TEXTURE IS ALIGNED!!

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
