  1. Green Goblin's Deathmatch Levels (legalized version)

The first 8 levels of this wad were created by me with the intention of using them in deathmatch mode with my buddies. I did try to build them so that they can be played in single mode, but I may have missed a few weapon stashes or monster dens that should be toggled for multi-player only.

There is a definite trend in the complexity of the levels from 1 to 8. This reflects the fact that I was just learning how to build wads at the first, and slowly got the hang of it by the end. [...]

The stat bar was based on one I found in the DOOM2 DOMAIN.WAD. I lost the text file that came with it, so apologies to the author. [Note by the uploader: That's 'Soliders Domain' by Kevin Roels, located in the /idgames-archives here: /levels/doom2/deathmatch/d-f/domain.zip . But Roels got it (the statusbar) apparently from INVADE1.WAD by Andy Chen and Claude Martins, located in the /idgames-archives here: /levels/doom/g-i/invade1.zip .]

The status bar face was built by my friend B^2, and the new wall textures are modified floor textures saved as walls. The new sky was something I generated in VistaPro, the menu lettering was generated in TrueSpace 3D Modeller (they didn't come out like I wanted, 320x200 resolution sucks :< ), and the new mission names were simply cut and pasted from the existing ones.

Phew! Well, I think that's it. I hope you enjoy it.

  2. Genocide

Quite small deathmatch level with lots of weapons and no exit. It's designed for 2 players, but can check how it works with 3 or 4 players.

  3. The Gog-Man's Doom Deathmatch WAD and GOG2X.WAD for Doom 1.2r

This WAD if for all the Doomers out there who just LOVE to blow their friends AWAY! I designed this level from the ground up for HEAD TO HEAD play.
I'm sorry if it sucks in single player mode.. Try it with a friend or better yet, three friends!!!
Have fun and remember: It's only a game, not a way of life!

    The Gog-Man

--> Some additions of GOG2X.WAD include berserker, invisibility and more superchargers. There are more new tunnels, rooms and really fun jumps.
Enjoy this with a few friends.. TGM

  4. GOTHMOG.WAD

PWAD file for E1M1. This is an ARENA type DEATHMATCH level that was created using the same idea as the ledges series, with a central arena surrounded by smaller rooms. It is designed primarily for deathmatch, BUT can be played alone or co-op, but let me warn you that if you play with monsters, expect to get your butt kicked, especially in Ultra-Violence! There is only one gun of each type laying around not counting the shotgun you get from the enemies. HINT: There is a trick in one of the rooms that can become a 30 second trap for another player if you figure it out first!

  5. Ill

I made these levels for a deathmatch server I usually hosted at school for my friends. I put it together in a few minutes. Levels 1, 2 4, and 6 are the best ones. The others, well, could have been a lot better.

Deathmatch game. Invisible barriers make you wait. Run under the colored towers floating in the air. You will be transported up into them. There you can run through most of the walls. Look for a dark opening. In the dark hall you will drop into a dark pit. There is a hard to find transporter in the pit and a lighted hallway.

  9. HIMA.WAD

House that I live in. 2 floors, small yard and basement. Quite tight and tough. Uses teleports for changing floors so it's best when sound and flash is removed from teleport. The first deathmatch with 3 people we had almost 300 frags so it's good for DM.

    THIS LEVEL DOESN'T HAVE EXIT.

BTW: This is my first level ever...

  10. Hangar v3.0

Alright, you're all wondering, "why is the first level in DOOM called 'Hangar?' when it really isn't a hangar or anything like one?" Well, now it is. Hangar features new textures, secret areas, a good playing field, and above all, it's a cool place to deathmatch in!

  13. GS's Arena

This wad is designed for use with the new DEATHMATCH 2.0 rules. The wad consist in an area surrounded by an higher corridor. In the central area is situated a pool with fifteen lifts (good for hunting). The main area also includes miscellanous structures with some additional lifts to quickly go from a place to another one. I also included a small dark room. The only remaining weapons are shotguns, a chainsaw and a chaingun in order not to allow easy frags (but it's still bloody ;-) ). There's no monsters. At least this patch includes a new music from Van Halens, Jump.

  14. IN YO FACE

IN YO FACE for DOOM I is a deathmatch only level. It's stricktly move fast and kick ass from begining to end. The level consists of a darkened arena in the center with an upper level all around the rectangular perimeter. The players start in one of four rooms at each corner of the upper level. They will each find Weapons, Armor or Health according to the Skill level they choose (the higher the Skill level, the nastier the weapons). An attempt has been made to be fair to all parties. There are Teleporters in each of bottom corners so that you can travel between levels. Each side of a Teleporter will transport you to the upper level directly facing you. You can also jump accross the Teleporter from the upper level in order to get to the upper level directly accross from you. This level is great in DEATHMATCH 2.0 as well as regular Deathmatch. Although there are no hidden rooms there is plenty of opportunity for ambush.

  15. J.C. Herhous: DeathMatch Wad

This is my old house. If you make a mess, clean it up. I love playing house wads the best. There aren't that many i've found so i made my own. I apologize for the on/off light switches that don't work. You'll have to play JCHOUSE.WAD, which is the original Doom ][ version. Please e-mail me w/ any comments!

  16. The Grid

This is a deathmatch level set in a grid of criss-crossing upper and lower corridors with moving floors at each intersection. The upper corridors run north to south and are connected by windows. The lower corridors run east to west, and are dark. Shotgun, chaingun and chainsaw are available, with a rocket launcher in the middle.

  18. IDBEST.WAD

This a huge deathmatch level made by cutting and pasting together parts of e1m1, e1m2, e1m3, e1m4, and e1m5. It's intended for regular deathmatch, and there are no energy weapons. I added a lot more to idmix.wad, and I redid the layout a bit. Idmix.wad was hastily thrown together. Now the the ceiling and floor tiles are properly aligned (at least where it counts) and the exit works :).

  20. INFINITY.WAD

This is a "ledges" type wad. It was designed entirely for Deathmatch but can be challenging for single player. All the weapons are available plus BERSERK. The basic layout is a figure eight or the "infinity" symbol (thus the name). Weapons and regeneration start points have been strategically located and fine tuned after a lot of deathmatch play. Health is limited as is ammo and armor. Everything has been set up such that the players will have to visit the entire level for one thing or another.

This is a deathmatch wad I made and it's not really intended for single player or co-op although you can play it with those methods. For deathmatch it's probably better with no monsters but I included them just the same. There's a few sniper spots on this level as well as plenty of moving lifts. ;) There _is_ a cyberdemon on the level but he's only there on UV. All the weapons are on the level. Hmm, I guess that's all there is to say about it except enjoy and write me your comments!

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
