  1. Mountain of the Cannibal God

This is my first ever WAD, built over the course of three days while learning the various principles. Overall i dont think it turned out too badly; and you'll be pleased to know that despite the fact that its my first WAD, it does not contain a cyber demon or spider mastermind. Mainly an outdoor map over quite a wide area. Based around a mountain as the title suggests, consisting of three main areas ; the temple, the caverns, and the summit. Please feel free to e-mail me with any comments/suggestions/constructive criticisms you have.

A um.. I don't know, I suck at describing stuff. My best map yet though, hope you enjoy. I recommend you run it on something compatible with doom.exe demos, as stx-Vile made a very nice maxrun.

  3. MOTION2.WAD

A sequel and tribute to an ancient wad called 'Motion'. I tried to keep the same theme and style, and feel i succeeded. This is NOT meant as a jokewad, I only tried to create as accurate a sequel as I could. Of course this means the map is ugly, but you might find enjoyment in it as well, particularly if you played the original map.

  5. The Madness of Mergatroid

Well, this is a very impressive episode including 9 _excellent_ levels. All the levels in this episode were created by myself, excluding e1m5, which was designed by a friend. We feel that any DOOM fanatic will enjoy this episode and will be completely impressed by the work put into it.

Most levels on the Internet suck. It's a fact, but these 9 levels do not suck. id Software, if they ever saw this, would most likely want to know where the two of us were when they were designing the original DOOM levels. It's taken roughly a year to design the levels, in fact...I never planned to have any nice levels...much less a whole episode. It seems that after I figured out how to use DEU that level making just sorda seemed fun, so I designed levels like mad. ...but, I am a perfectionist (in most respects) and therefore I insisted that the levels I designed were no less greater than those in the actual game. I felt that if they could make complex levels, then so can I...and I did :) Most of the levels in here have been zipped and distributed via local BBS, but even those were completely checked and re- checked for bugs/parts I found to be lacking "id" quality. So, what you have here is pure DOOM art. ...not to mention my last DOOM work that will ever be. I am _tired_ of making levels. My creativity is draining (I also want to maintain a life :), etc., so I have decided to stop while I'm ahead.

So, play this all the way through...it is arranged as the original DOOM, smaller/easier levels first which work up in size/difficulty. You will see the quality, and you may also wonder how I kept my sanity...so, have a blast!

  6. The Omen

A dark haunting WAD. With much emphasis on horror and the macabre. We tried to make it as gruesome as we could without overdoing it. I think. I've made this WAD file a little less difficult. No hidden exit this time. All the weapons are in plain sight. There's also ample weapons and ammo to kill all the different monsters. Revised to support deathmatch.

An Episode 1-inspired map, set on a lonely moonbase on Phobos. This is not a "pure" Knee-Deep style map though.

  8. Oxygen v0.9b

Being the contest-hungry soul that I am, I polished up this beta for a contest going on over at doomcenter.com for the best level that's done in the E1 style. I still have to do a little more testing with enemies and objects and all, but it should give you a couple minutes of fun if nothing else.

I'm trying to do a whole episode, so that would explain why a) this level is E1M2 and b) why it's so easy (is the original E1M2 all that hard either?).

  9. The Marble Maze - Doom I version

Oh, about the level--it's very big but it should be fast even on slower computers. I designed it more for style than difficulty, so you hardened DOOMers may be able to do this in your sleep. But watch out, there are a few unkind surprises!

All weapons are available, but the BFG is *EXTREMELY* well-hidden. Don't expect to find it on your first time playing. But once you know how and where to get it, it's easy!

  10. Moonbase

Kills you faston U.V., but not by overwhelming you by enemies. You'll see. I'm working on an entire episode, so I would apreciate some feedback on this level, what you liked, what you didn't like, you know stuff like that.

  14. Invasion

A horde of monsters has infested the moonbase... ... however - fight back ! There is only one difficulty level but I think it's not too hard to get through this one. Don't be afraid of running out of ammo - there are at least enough shotgun shells to blast the whole scum back into hell. A good time is about 30 minutes. 333 monsters wait for the hot lead of your shotgun. Kill `em all !!! Mail me, if you like this wad (or not).

  16. Nick Doom, Secret Agent

You are Nick Doom, former Space Marine and one of the few live veterans of the Hellspawn War, now a crack Corporate Security Operative for good old UAC. The trail of some stolen high- tech equipment and rumors of a zombie-run scientific lab lead you to a small building atop a desolate volcanic island. As you sneak in and the door locks behind you, you realize you probably shouldn't have left the heavy weapons outside...

This level is designed to be fun and easy for anyone on the lowest settings, fun and challenging for typical Doomers on "Hurt Me Plenty", and interesting for even the tougher fraggers on Ultraviolence. I've tried to align every texture and perfect every room; feedback of all kinds is most welcome! This is not a Humungo Monster level; there's just one boss (except in Ultraviolence), and he's right at the end where he belongs. And, especially in UV, you'll have to watch your ammo...

here is a small collection of DOOM 1 levels that I made long ago. Before I evolved to quake.
sat.wad is the 1st episode, it sucks.
niftylvl.wad is the second episode. It has some of the better levels I have made the e3mx ones all contain bosses. It was gonna be a boss lvl episode. But I stopped dooming b4 it was finished. E3m6 has an exit, but no way to get to it yet, the lvl was never finished.
NOTE: DOOM will not load all of the e3 lvls at once, dunno why.
NOTE: you may need ultimate doom to play a few of the E3 lvls.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
