  3. Area of 666 Sectors

My first level, I added some new sectors. It is good for practicing how to make circles in the arenas. This level has 666 sectors, the name comes from it.

  9. Untitled (as of yet)

This is eventually gonna be E1M7 in Freedoom. Since Freedoom is probably a while off, and I've been seeing some other Freedoom levels floating around in /newstuff, I've decided to jump on the bandwagon and release my level as well. I haven't released a level in a while, anyway.

This is the third level I've completed and it strays from my usual realistic detail style to be more of a retro-style level. The Freedoom resources aren't necessary to run this level, but the texture wad is suggested to make the level look like it was intended.

  10. Atomic Tomb

A level for Ultimate Doom + a port that will up the vis-plane limit and is compatible with boom. Main focus was on single player + co-op, but there is some very good DM support.

Story: Shortly after Deimos vanished, the hellspawn appeared on Mars and Earth. Blah Blah Blah, you are a private UAC marine stationed on Mars, and your buddies are gone. Grab your shotgun and take some of the uglies out!

Oh and you never can have enough computer screens eh?

  11. Canal Run v1.0

Dropped into a series of canals with swiftly flowing water, the only way for you to escape is by defeating the Barons of Hell which guard the teleporter out. Unfortunately for you, there are also some Cyberdemons firing into the canals from above, as well as hazards like barrels floating around too..

This is a concept map, I know. Virtually every linedef in the map is two-sided, and this is why the map has a tendency to run slowly. The fact that there are dozens of moving floors doesn't help the framerate either.

As for the gameplay, your objective is to defeat the Barons of Hell which roam around the canals, while trying not to be swept away yourself. Every weapon is available, and you'll find lots of ammo and other goodies going in a circle throughout the level. Since you also have to worry about those Cybies, this map basically tests your ability to fight while moving constantly. When they are all defeated, the pillar near the start of the map (marked with an 'Exit' sign) will lower, allowing you to jump into the next episode..

On Easy skill levels, you'll only have to hunt down 3 Barons. On Medium, there will be 5 to deal with. And on Hard, 8 of them are out there..

  12. Tower of the CyberDemons v1.0

After playing one of my old favorites, CYBRDETH.WAD, I released that there's really a lack of GOOD Cyberdemon battles in Doom maps. Oh sure, there's always the newbie maps with 50 Cybers in one room and 1000 BFGs lying all over, but that's no fun. So I made this map to fill that gap, and also to provide a challenge to veteran Doomers like myself.

The difficulty levels break down like so..

Easy - 4 Cybers, some Lost Souls Medium - 8 Cybers, some Lost Souls and a few Imps Hard - 12 Cybers, some Lost Souls and a lot of Imps

There are Green Armors on Medium and Blue Armors on Hard as well. There is no armor on Easy, but there there are 5 Soul Spheres on all difficulty levels.

Any Doomer worth his/her Plasma Rifle should be able to take out 4 Cybers, no problem. 8 Cybers are a bit tougher, but if you've beaten Ultimate Doom's Episode 4, this should also be possible. 12 Cybers are the real test of your skill, as I only just scraped by myself!

The golden rule is to CONSERVE YOUR AMMO! Do not fire randomly around hoping to hit anything.. there's only just enough to kill everything! Also, don't pick up the numerous backpacks outside unless you really need ALL FOUR ammo types they give! Expend your cells and rockets first, then your bullets and shells, as the first two are harder to come by.

The platforms which the plasma rifles are on (which you teleport to), are actually lifts, so you can lower them and get additional cells from the guns. This also means getting the plasma is a risk in DM due to the fact that they're over a very deep lava pit!

Finally, this map requires BOOM or a compatible source port due to the high sectors, numerous 2-sided linedefs, additional DM and Coop start spots, and the "bright" lava effect.

  13. Borax 4

Basically a large base type level. This level is HUGE (But not insanely hard) You find yourself in a secondary military base, some distance from the other, ill fated base.

It is located deep in the gray, foggy mountain range. You have to escape and ascend a nearby mountain.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
