  2. Trial

This is basically an unfinished wad. I wanted to have some outside input. I plan on expanding the level and maybe adding more levels. This all depends on time and if I can figure out a good theme for my doom world. If you have any comments / flames please E-Mail me or post to alt.games.doom. This is my first attempt at creating a playable doom level, so any advice would be great :)

X-Rated This wad may be considered X-rated by some. In my opinion, the nude shot in the bedroom is no more X-rated than the violence of the game. If it offends you don't play this wad.

This was my home and horse farm...until a UAC C147 attempting to land at Dulles Airport, which I unfortunately happen to be under the N-S approach, crashed here. I'm not sure what happened but but apparently the C147 was carrying Toxic waste from the Spawning Pits which upon landing on my land began mutating all the animals who began spawning in my house, barns and out-buildings. In addition, the plants became mutated.... well to make a long story short I'm fucked unless you can save the farm.

  9. toughguy.zip

This level is my first, and as such was designed to demonstrate an idea I had to simulate 3D play by silencing the teleporter and making the destination look like the jump point. Once I demonstrated that it worked I made a hardcore shotem' up because my roomates complained that DOOM is too easy. The level lacks a "motif" and I was lazy with the textures but if you have time to notice you must be a DOOM GOD. An included file toughguy.bat replaces the nessesary sounds & graphics, plays the game (with added extensions) then restores on exit. To play unzip all files to your DOOM dir and type "toughguy". The bat file calls DMGRAPH & DMAUD so you'll need them too.

  14. The Big Temple

You are entering the big temple of DOOM. I have build a big temple room, and... other rooms to buils a DOOm level. I've tested it in 'Heart Me Plenty' diff. setting, but I know where are the monsters... so it's difficult to see if the difficulty levels are correctly set. If not, I think the y are more difficult than the ID ones. I can't play via net, so I can't make a multi-player game. I have just put 4 deathmatch starts and 4 players starts, but I can't say if TEMPLE.WAD is a good multi-player level. I hope someone will try and tell me what to do to change it in a GREAT net game.

Please, test it and tell me if you liked it or not. I will end it (some little think to add...) and build one new, and would like to know where I did the good thinks and where I made some mistakes...

Thanx. (and excuse me for my bad english...)

  15. The Stepper

As you gather your senses, you look around to see that you are in a small courtyard. You can see the exit, it is only a few yards away. You move towards the door only to find that there is some type of a force field preventing you from getting there. There must be some way out! You find the subterrainian passage. You make your way down deeper, deeper into the heart of the complex. You discover all the secrets that it holds. You find the Pyramid Chamber and climb to the top and grab the exit key card. You have fought in the Arena of Death and survived! You relax at the Cinema just as the curtain goes up. It is an adult movie but you get in easily and sit front row center. You make it back to the surface and fresh air. You have by-passed the force field, you insert the keycard into the exit door, YES, the door opens, you run in and see the switch on the far wall. As you reach for the switch you feel something burning on the back of your neck, should you turn around or press the switch? You start to turn and ............

  17. SoftChoice goes to hell!!!

It's happened. SoftChoice Corporation's facade has been broken and revealed to be the true hell that it really is (THIS IS A JOKE DAVE!!!)

Watch out for the CyberLord. There's ALOT of room for him to walk around in, so look out for him once you "activate" him...

If you've played SCC2.WAD, you already know this WAD is HUGE!!! Check this one out... The same thing, just better textures (I think), more secrets... Just check it out...

Oh yeah! And in response to public outcry over lack of EXIT signs, I've conformed and put one in.

Night falls as you prepare to enter another base on Phobos. This base was built right into the hills, and uses a lot of natural caverns in it's design. Three levels of great fun and interesting designs. These levels are best for non-deathmatch play, although deathmatch starts are there. They should also have very little slowdown, since I designed them with a 386/40. Level 1: This level is pretty difficult, with little ammo or health, and monsters from all sorts of triggered doors. Also, heavy on the triggers and switches. (My specialty! :') Cool places include an expansive cavern and a couple "pseudo-mazes". Level 2: This level is an exhibition of really cool designs, including a number of places with manual light-sourcing, and every other neat thing I could think of. Visually entertaining, fun to play. Level 3: Well, this one is just cool. Hard, fun, some caverns, a bunch outdoors. If you can't find all the secrets... have you gone through every teleporter? A nice stressful conclusion to the trilogy.

If you get stuck on a level, or are trying to find some of the secrets, watch the demos. They cover most of the good stuff, and show the way through the level.

  20. SAPIDUSB - Bugfix version

Welcome to SAPIDUS.WAD, the 4th installment in the UCA storyline. This wad runs under e2m4 and supports single, coop, and deathmatch modes. It also supports limited difficulty settings (basically intermediate or ultra-violent). It was created using DEU5.1, BSP1.0, and a new program called REJECT1.0. For the reject, I used a reject value of 512, so if you need to change it, you have a reference value. It shouldn't be necessary, though - SAPIDUS runs quite smoothly on my 486sx-25 at a high detail, normal-sized screen. Kudos to the author of REJECT1.0!

SAPIDUS was designed with the assumption that the player is following the UCA storyline and will consequently play SAPIDUS as the level right after DIOPATRA (UCA and TALPOIDA are the first two installments). While SAPIDUS is playable as a stand-alone, but you might find it to be a major handful that way (after all, this is the main section of the enemy base, so you will encounter a lot of monsters). Anyways, I can complete this wad in about 43 minutes at UV level either as a stand-alone or within the storyline (keep in mind that while ammo is ample, it is probably not enough to kill all the monsters if my wad is played as a stand-alone - you will just have to run from some cacodemons....). Played within the storyline, it is very possible to get 100% across the scoreboard.

  23. Deimos Moon Base, Anguilla Crater

Welcome to uca.zip. This mission replaces e2m1. This is also the first WAD I've constructed, using DEU5.1 and BSP1.0. I hope you enjoy it. If so, or if not, please give me feedback so I know how to make my next one even better.

This is a slightly revised version of UCA. Players probably won't notice any real changes in gameplay. Anyways, UCA now supports coop player mode but NOT deathmatch. I probably wouldn't have bothered to upload this revised version, except that the original uploaded version somehow "disappeared." So, I am re-uploading, and why not make a few small changes? :)

UCA is challenging, but definitely possible to complete. Believe me, I've play-tested it often enough. :-)

(You might remember this level as DETHE1M1. I've finally decided on a theme for my episode, so I added some graphics and here it is. I changed alot of stuff, and made the level a little more interactive. If you liked DETHE1M1, then you'll love Urban Wars.)

The year is 2099 and V-Town has suffered from major incidents of gang related violence. All of America's resource could not free V-Town from the gangs, so the city is in chaos. In an effort to save yourself and your family, you decide to fight for leadership of the gangs. You will battle many gang members, and eventually your friends (deathmatch partners) to become the leader of V-Town. You are now enlisted into the URBAN WARS!

(This is just the beta story, but is really close to the real thing.)

The war starts in your family's home just after you declare your leadership challenge.

The troops the UCA sent into the Tibetan base failed to get past the helipad. Therefore it's up to you to crawl in through the caverns upon which the base was built. Within the caverns is a deserted monestary where the scientists, working at the base, have been testing with radioactives. Your job is to find out what happened in the base and TAKE IT BACK !!!!

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
