Title : BERMUDA TRIANGLE for DOOM II
Filename : BERMUDA.WAD
Completion : July 1st 1999
Author : Gregory Dick
Email Address : greg_br549@yahoo.com
Misc. Author Info : "Shakes harder than Ted Kennedy reachin' for a
breakfast beer" when without Doom!
Other WADS by Author : Hero.wad for Doom2
Pet Peeves : Wad authors who still feel obligated to putting that small
bogus door behind player1 start. It means nothing!
Description : A Medium-large level based on an uncharted desert island
in the Devil's Triangle. Focus is on single play action.
E-mail me your thoughts!
Cheesy Doom story : The UAC has hired you as a security agent in charge of
overseeing the safe transportation of a BFG9000. While
flying over the Bermuda Triangle, your small cargo jet
is suddenly shot down by an unseen missile which separates
the cockpit from the rest of the plane. You wake up
inside of what remains of the airplane, crashed in the
middle of a mysterious desert island. You crawl forward
noticing nobody around but the dead pilot and what seems
to be the remains of alien life forms. Realizing that
this must be how so many other soldiers have disappeared
in the past, you decide it would be best to find the cockpit
and radio for help. Hopefully you'll find the BFG before
the bastard that shot you down does! Maybe you'll find
some long lost soldiers that are still living here today...

================================================================
* Construction *
Base : New level from scratch
Editor(s) used : Various map editing utilities
Wintex 4.3 (Olivier Montanuy)
Rmb 2.1 (Jens Hykkelbjerg)
Adobe Photoshop 4.1
Build time : About 2 and a half months of swearing...off and on.
Known Bugs : !SAVEGAME BUFFER OVERRUN! You can play this level with
the regular Doom2 v1.9 but you will not be able to save
your game. Since saving is the most powerful weapon
in any game...It would be wise to use an advanced
Doom engine. I recommend Boom (specifically PRBoom
for high res). You can download the Boom engine at
this address: http://teamtnt.com
Also, sky texture may not align correctly on Doom engines that allow
the player to look up and down. Everything else seems fine.

* Difficulty Settings *
Designed this one strictly for ultra violence. I really couldn't see the use in simply
deleting or replacing monsters. I always feel like I'm getting ripped off if I play
anything less than UV. Instead I threw in more health & ammo for easier levels.
================================================================
* Hints *
A few intense/tight area fights...save often.
On UV, ammo will become scarce in a few areas. You may have to run forward into dangerous
areas to grab more...however, there should be plenty to get you through the entire level.
Use BFG wisely. You'll only get a few shots. (no plasma rifle)
Also, the yellow key to the cargo plane in the beginning is closer than you think...don't
wander off too far!
