About This File

Terrere1.wad is a single level for boom. The theme varies between brown and rock textures. I've tried to make the area's merge in together and i think i've about succeeded. I think it's the best level i've made so far.

------------------- !!!!!!WARNING!!!!!! -------------------

I've made the level so hard i could just complete it without secrets. If you have trouble finishing it on UV, don't start whining but play it on HMP then.

Short level. Simple but working layout, nicely decorated. Gameplay @ UV is, given authors claim, disappointingly easy, I completed it in the first run without needing the rocket launcher and the plasma gun. And there is no need for killing the cybie. Besides that, it's worth a play. Overall: just too short for pdg.

This is a medium sized Doom2 style level which provides you a great challenge. Some textures are misaligned but who cares. Most of the level is of the Brick theme and you are given no rest at the start as you fight you way from start to finish. There were some sections of caved in underground train tracks that was very well done. The layout of the level is excellent. 4 Stars -PC

This is from October 2000, which is already almost seven years ago (spooky). It's great fun, tough but not impossible, especially if you shimmy along a ledge and grab some rockets. It's not overtly source port-y, apart from an instant lift. The design starts off fairly simple, but it has a good railroad junction. No real final battle, but there's a fiddly cyberdemon battle that you can just run past, although that would not be heroic.

This is not the best. Not as good as #2. 9/19/07

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
