About This File

Once upon a time in a galaxy far, far away...

NUTS.WAD!!!!

THE STORY SO FAR... You are assigned to destroy the final Hellspawn army on Litrivin IV. The government sends you all alone becuase you got drunk at the General's Birthday party last year and he never liked you since. Since this is the biggest Hellspawn army ever esstablished, the cheap-ass General sends you with nothing but a pea shooter. Good luck.

People who give this bad ratings obviously don't see the point. It's supposed to be a fat fuckload of monsters. It's supposed to be a boring level. It's not supposed to be playable, but more just a demonstration of what a bajillion monsters crammed into one big battlefied result in. I found it very amusing, so it gets my 5.

"This is actually a pretty crappy .wad file. I got it, if only for the novelty value. Even so, the rooms could have been smaller. More rooms and less enemies would have made the game go faster. Is there anyone who could beat this without cheating?" It's a jokewad retard. -Craigs 5/5

It was okay, although it started to freeze up but then everything went back to normal. Also, there should've been more weapons.

My computer must think it's vomit too because it rejected it when the framerate got low.

Even though it's a shallow Doom level, I'll give it 5 stars for being one of the best damn benchmark tests ever. If you can play this without your computer crashing, you can play ANYTHING Doom has to offer. xD

Play this with AEOD and nothing will handle it without having the PC shitting itself. Legendary.

Laughs! I LIKED IT! Thats wad i call massacre fun! BUT!!! Its making the computer slow... Well, still better than one WAD i saw which uses spawn and can create over 10000 cybers in a area even smaller than this map! And the sybers even stack on each other

When playing GZDoom or Skulltag and setting gamma correction higher, and the game crashes, simply load up nuts.wad to make your gzdoom/skulltag crash and have the good gamma correction on the computer again. This wad is, therefore, useful, and deserves 5 stars. Whoever added this to the top 10 infamous wads is a moron. 5/5

Pointless. The author could at least have bothered to put enough ammo in the level.

This would be great for benchmark testing or weapon mod testing.

I had absolutely no fun playing this. The only 2 reasons I'm giving this one star instead of 1 is 1) The plot is hilarious and 2) The framerate I was getting playing this was mind-blowingly low

I did it. I killed all but 1 monster. it took a chaingun, a doomsphere, a terminator sphere, a spread rune, a bfg 10k, sv_fastweapons 2, sv_infiniteammo 1, sv_bfgfreeaim 1, a bfg 9000, and the ability to get all of this with one keypress! I had to take it out of GL mode for the sake of framerates, but I won. Shit that was hard.

Works in GLBoom+ with -complevel 9, apart from a slight dip when facing the initial horde at the beginning the framerate was fantastic throughout, above 25 frames and this is without a dual core. Takes too long? 92% kills in under 6 mins, requires some infighting in the 1st room, then stand in the corner to lure the Cyber swarm to the right to stand a greater chance of squeezing past them. Greatest Orgy known to Marine, apart from the 3rd ofcourse.

The trick is to surf over the heads of the monsters; I didn't get all the way to the end, but it seems possible enough.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
