About This File

This PC was from the beginning meant to be mainly DM maps for up to 32 players DeathMatch, as it progressed though it became mainly focused on SP and COOP. Some DM features are included but some maps are very poorly supported for this. Map01-04 should be the best though. There's some new monsters aswell as 7 all new weapons.

Curse of D'sparil - enjoyed that much more. It isn't as comfusing and works with much more stable engine. Nonetheless this was pretty good, obviously a lot of effort. Still worth a try. 4/5

Amen to that. First guy: This ain't overrated, they put it in the Top 10 for a reason, bozo! As for this wad, it's great. Don't listen to them. Try it for yourself and see if you like it.

The scripting could have done with text as well, i could hardly underdtyand what was being said, and it needed more health, i was battling an arachnotron with like 15% health, then after that i picked up a stimpack, only to get jumped and flattened by two revenants -_-

Wow. This is incredible. The graphics are good, but I'm really amazed by the levels, which incorporate a lot of detail. Interestingly, this doesn't really look like Doom to me. A nice new look, but with Doomesque gameplay.

An excellent wad, superb architecture and well paced fights. My only gripe are some of the puzzles are abit pull switch find change, but some great ones like the bomb planting and teleport storage crates even it out. Matched only by RTC-3057 - 5/5 - Homer

Nimrod pwnz you!! This really shows the amazing power of Doom Legacy, in fact more than any other Legacy wad I have ever played. Man, you know what. You take one look at the amazing architecture and the structures of the levels and you will believe that it is tons better than the capabilities of ZDoom with the bomb planting, console messages, special scripts, transparent water, and tons more features. Nimrod is a neglected masterpiece of a wad.

I played it under gzdoom and I had issues with some bugs. Nevertheless it is high quality work with great use of new features. Not legendary, but close. 4/5 - Damned

Well, I was expecting if it were 4 or 5. I choose 5. The reason of 5 is because it has good design, good weapons and good story. The reason of 4 is there are loadsa bugs. Some of the monsters are BADLY made. But its still playable :) - Your Will.

Very cyborg-like, which is a bit less than System Shock. The lack of health items really bites. There are some cheap bomb traps that you must be careful of. That baron-vile is over-rated, it's like fighting the sumo in SW. If you don't mind dull tech bases, maybe you would like it. There's a story too, but it's more of a briefing. The weapon are primitive 3D renders, which would work if it was spectre. ~1/5

Horrible distorting sounds, ugly cartoon-like graphics, borderline maps that leave you exasperated, battles with baby spiders with only a pistol. No thanks, I'd rather gouge my eye out with a rusty spoon! 0/5

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
