About This File

After countless hours of hard work, the first hub of RTC-3057 is complete. We are very pleased with how it has turned out, and hope you will be too. The hub consists of 7 levels and takes place on the Federal Commonwealth of Earth's flagship, "The Enforcer". It is a mod for Doom2 using the powerful port of Zdoom. You probably already know this, so...Enjoy!

That new "oof" sound is burned into my mind after having played this. I saw plenty of HOMs in the storage areas with the crates (on the sloped bits), and no matter what the wiki told me to do, I couldn't get the pistol bug fixed. The new skin is hilarious and ugly, and even though I am badass with the pistol, I cannot fight hundreds of bull demons and imps with only it. I also don't understand why the ship is constantly spinning in space, shouldn't it be moving forward?

If I wanted to play Half-Life I'd play Half-Life, not a Doom WAD that plays like Half-Life. Even then reading a book is a lot more entertaining than the Half-Life franchise and it's certainly more entertaining than this boring slog.

Two wads in 2004 rocked my socks, Action Doom and this. This is truly amazing and I cannot wait for the final product. 5 stars all the way. -Bloodskull-

I did that fix myself in XWE. Thanks to the last poster for saying that, because this is one of the most amazing wads I've seen. I was genuinely scared by it! It's so tense. --Crazee Boy, 4/5

Pros: Good to decent layout which makes the environment solid, with competent music (some tracks fit better than others), and evident effort put overall. Cons: Some texturing and details dulled by excessive attention to realism, game play is slow and health stringent, and the "story" is little more than an embellished switch hunt. [3/5] ~Chain Mail

I just sat here for an hour, trying to get through a door that says "pressure is to high." I shot out the little orange lights, but it didn't seem to do anything. This is WAY to hard. 2 stars

This wad is great. This isn't you're typical doom wad, but much more of a modern game. I loved it, but it's really short and some areas could use some extra action like in the cryochamber( it could burst open and monsters come out or something). YOu can really the work that has been put in the archtecture, music, athmosphere and the storey is well written too. Can't wait till hub 2 ( if it ever comes =( ) 5/5 Dyne

Boring, a popup menu that I couldn't figure out how to use, and a shitty first fight. I hated everything about it.

5/5 It pwnz0rz. The game feels as if it is no longer Doom. The incredible Atmosphere of the levels had me playing over and over. However, I seem to have a problem. I seem to have MAJOR Lag on Deck5:Cargo and Engine control. Anyone know why?

ZDoom crashes on startup now because RTC-3057 uses DECORATE features that have been deprecated in recent ZDoom versions. Open the DECORATE file and replace "Pistol" with "Pistol2".

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
