About This File

What caused the hellspawn havoc in a remote science base? Could it have been a strange shipment sent from UAC teleport research center, a place called as 'Alien Tech'? It's time to find it out.

hth2 is a sequel for an (yet) unreleased ZDoom wad. Featuring a storyline, dummy actors, intro/conversations you can skip, the very different kind of teleports you've ever seen before... and more.

Points for the complex architecture and the hilarious Engrish cutscenes. On the other hand, the levels look quite dull, and running around looking for keys gets boring quick. I didn't find it very fun.

Again one of the wads, that has been sitting on my drive for some time. I haven't downloaded Legacy, so I've tried it in Gzdoom. The look was little bit strage, with lot of fog, there were regular bugs in cutscenes, but overall it worked quite fine.
It is amazing, how author used the features of advanced engine to create real 3d environment.

A beautiful and underrated map pack utiliziing Legacy's features to it's full potential. The story immerses you into a world deeper than Doom itself. The architecture and gameplay will have you forgetting that you're playing a Singleplayer game, almost console worthy. Use OpenGL to get the full experience, you won't regret it!

Very interesting level design. I'm impressed. The plot and some of the puzzles in the game are perhaps bit too complicated (or uninteresting), which hinders the gameplay. Still at least **** stars, perhaps even *****. Can't be sure, because I haven't seen the whole thing yet. That is, my Legacy (1.41 for Linux with OpenGL) crashes so much, that i can't get past the third level: Vertex3f: 1 Segmentation fault

Awesome. Not much more to say, except that the lightning is awesome x2 (provided that you use OpenGL)!

This is an awesome partial conversion for Legacy that has oddly enough been very overlooked after the year of its release. How this didn't become more of a Legacy staple is rather beyond me. There's a few minor bugs but they're worth dealing with! Magnificent work. 5/5

best detail ive seen put into a .wad file - 5/5. the real good thing is that it was ACTUALLY story driven and the only few problems were the many crashes, and innability to transact between any levels past level 2, other than that it was absolutely awesome!

Sensational wad that makes the Legacy Engine shine... The gameplay is quite atmospheric and really absorbs you into it combining some spooky segments with pure action ones. The architecture is top-notch, as well as the lightning. Cutscenes could be better, but they´re good. If it didn´t have bugs that can make Legacy crash this would be something to be included with each Doom Legacy release!. Overall, a must play.

Note seems to work only UV. Nice Legacy levelset. Scripted scenes and relatively good detail in maps. Fun action 4/5.

Wait for the next release of Legacy, and this wonder may yet be realized. If you had any doubts as to what the Legacy Engine could do, then this guy is here to show you up. It's a masterpiece, only held back by Legacy's "current" bugs.

Very impressive work. Although you should get beta testers for it as there's a couple of unnecessary bugs in it. But as long as legacy doesn't hate you and you play in UV, you shouldn't have much problems.

The game crashes at the beginning of "level 3", right after the elevator ride. Something about a segment violation. Was really cool up to this point.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
