yes indeed, this does have early versions of Kama Sutra maps, all done in Doom 1 style. the rest of the set is mostly hit or miss, but there seem to be more misses than hits. while its fun to slaughter loads of monsters at times, the amount of barons really slows down the pacing by quite a lot. historic wad, shows how Gusta has evolved since then.

Hell Medley is a collection of early maps from Adolf Vojta, one of the two mappers for the famous Kama Sutra Doom 2 megawad.  Out of the 16 maps, 3 of them(E1M1, E1M8 & E3M1) were later converted to Kama Sutra Maps 01, 07 & 12. The rest of the maps are bit of a mixed bag but are worth looking into for historically reasons.

E1 was OK... as for E2, I only played half of E2M1 before feeling it was a waste of my time. Some of these are OK, some are pretty meh; all are old. Don't expect Kama Sutra-quality maps!

Sure, it's not quite KS quality, but how many wads are? It's still well worth a look (4/5). And so what if it is old? So are HR, Plutonia, etc.

I liked KS a lot, but this set of maps didn't catch on to me. Too many weakly designed maps or just otherwise weird/boring stuff. I guess you might be able to find the 9 best levels and compose a solid episode, but as is this just barely gets a 3/5.

I loved Kama Sutra (just forget about the last level, already - it's such a TINY part of the wad anyways!) but couldn't really find any of the KS appeal here, not even muted. Sorry, but 2/5.

This is a bunch of 16 wads and I guess they've been made earlier than 2003 and only compiled in that year. At least, that's how they look. Not without details and stuff, but very simple and basic. The gameplay is very nice, with an easy start and some nice challenging maps later on. The first two episodes are fun to play, but the last two maps (episode 3) are a bit pointless. 3/5 -Milian

the e1 maps are lovely, the e2 maps feel a bit amateurish in comparison in parts, and e2m5 has a window ledge bug that let's you complete it in 10 seconds by running over a step and through, which is sloppy, but overall pretty good fun. - pritch

Pritch: If you take a look at Kama Sutra, you'll see that Gusta (a compet-n player) often deliberately allows speedrunning shortcuts in his maps. It is not sloppy mapping, but rather a way to give his maps additional points of interest by making them play differently in differing categories/styles. Oh yeah, and E2M5 time should be 0:04. ;)

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
