Because of that, i love SCHOOL-DOOM! :)
Another reason is, that it's well done.
(This is the Ultimate DooM-version. The
D##M2-version has already been in the /idgames
-archives for a long time.)

Note by the uploader : This is originally SCHOOLDM.WAD, renamed,
because it's *legalized*: redundant graphics and
sounds, that are not necessary to be distributed
with the PWAD, have been removed, because they
are already in the IWAD. The WAD size has also
been reduced by using CleanWAD V1.53. These
changes do not harm the appearance and behavior
of the game/addon in any way.

Description : THE school is a hell. Everyone knows it. But for
you, things are just getting worse... Nobody
really understands why you spend your time by the
computer... Nobody understands you at all...
Nobody even wants to understand you... You are
being looked down... You are being mocked... You
have no place in their society... You hate them,
their selfishness and all... and you wish you'd
have the courage to say it aloud.In your school
card there is a mentioning : "ASOCIAL." You are
really feeling down... depressed... You think
about committing suicide, but then you realize
it's not what you want to do. You should make the
others suffer rather than yourself! That is the
real point. Next day, you go to school as
usual...
As you open the door, many voices with nothing
to say strike your ears. That is quite what you
expected. Then you see HER. The one you were once
interested in, the only one of those fools you
wanted to be kind to, and who told all the school
of your desperate actions. She just smiles at you
with overlook. Then she says: "Hello, Dirty One!
How are the fleas today? Why are you gasping?
There should be a law against freaks like you
that prohibits stinking at school." You hit her.
You hit her again, again, again, again, again...
Satisfaction...
OOPS! You've really made a mistake now. Not
considering her miserable life worth anything,
but YOUR life... They'll never forgive you
THIS... They'll surely get you, they surely will.
The punishment will be terrible... But one thing
is sure... They'll never get you alive! You will
fight! You will kill them all! You will burn the
schoolbuilding out of the map as if it never has
existed... Who cares if you are right or wrong!
It's your destiny... it's your hell... it's your
SCHOOL-DOOM!

* Ho to run it *
# Users of advanced source ports run the game like this:
myfavoritesourceport.exe -file schooldl.wad -deh schooldm.deh
... select the third episode to enter the SCHOOL DOOM levels.
# Users of the DOS executable version of DooM, that has been sold with it
(a.k.a. 'plain vanilla DooM') have to install the game in this way:
~ If you still use 'only' the registered version of DooM 1.9 (three
episodes), you should update to Ultimate DooM 1.9 (four episodes), because
SCHOOL-DOOM has been created with that version. You can get the patch for
the upgrade to Ultimate DooM here:

~ Make a backup of your doom installation so that you can easily restore it
later.
~ Get DEUSF and Dehacked, for example from these locations in the /idgames
-archives (see list of mirrors below):
utils/graphics_edit/deutex/deutex44.zip (package contains deusf)
utils/exe_edit/dhe31.zip (latest version of dehacked)
~ Run them like this:
deusf -append schooldl.wad (stores some graphics in the pwad to make it
vanilla compatible)
dehacked -load schooldm.deh
... That writes the changes of the dehacked patch into your doom.exe.
Dehacked will ask you, if it should create a copy of your doom.exe and
apply the deh-patch to that copy (doomhack.exe). You have to accept that
with 'Y'. If you haven't updated to Ultimate DooM, you will get an error
message: 'Line 71: Unmatchable text string.', because a specific message,
appearing when the game starts, can't be exchanged.
~ Play the game by typing:
doomhack -file schooldm.wad
... to see the recorded demos in the wad (DooM v. 1.9 reqired).
~ You can then enter SCHOOL DOOM by selecting the third episode.
or:
doomhack -file schooldm.wad -warp 3 1
... to jump directly into the action.

Demos Replaced : #2, #3 and #4 (for DOOM version 1.9)
Description : E3M1: This level represents a real school-
building, "Gymnasium Nilu". (No, it's not a
gym, it means something like High School or
6th Form.) The building has four floors,
with stairs replaced by teleporters which
look like stairs. The point is to kill the
teachers and students and drink their beer.
Imagine yourself stuffing the teachers with
lead, looking for the Blue Key through
classrooms filled with hostile students,
and attacking the Party Hall during a play.
-E3M9: The park has trees, a hanged guy and
lots of guys waiting to be hanged. If you
have problems, watch the demo for some help.
-E3M7: This level, "Gymnasium J-Norssi", is
an another school. It's also one of the
hugest levels ever made for DOOM (in fact,
the largest one we have seen!) There are two
floors, filled with classrooms. In addition
to the stairs, there's an elevator. There is
a lot of switches. Some of them do
something, some of them don't. You have
to pull two of them, but which two?
-E3M8: The only possible end for this
adventure: a wakeup in jail with skinheads.
You can get out of there, but there are still
some surprises waiting for you...
-Secret E3M2: Sewer (yes, we have played both
Dark Forces and Hexen :). Fully imaginary
and dark maze without AutoMap but with lots
of ammo: use flame thrower as a radar!

----School-Doom F.A.Q.----
Q: Why is the WAD so big?
Faidros: It has all sprites and flats, lots of wall textures & other
pictures, all sounds, two really big levels and some music inside.
I tried to remove some unchanged graphics but it only caused crashes.
GigaDemon : It has as much quality as quantity.
Gotara : Big WAD, good WAD.
Q: What are the differences between different versions?
F: All the versions under 3.0 are betas, alphas and even worse. If you see
them, delete them immediately. 3.0 is a quite good, but it has still
some problems, the worst maybe the crashing Park level.
3.01 the almost final version. It has more graphics, music and sounds
than 3.0 but for some reason is about 500K smaller.
3.011/red has two walls with changed texture, one wall with correct
texture alignment and one note added to the victory music. Did you
expect something more for a 1/1000th of a version number? Well, it runs
also a bit (in some places a lot) faster because of better REJECT data.
Also, it has a changed exit message.
3.011/blue has some graphic changes (including Headmaster's death and
ending pictures), again changed exit message (that's why it's called
blue), a more annoying cheater trap and a DeHackEd patch. For some
unknown reason, it's again 500K bigger than 3.01.
Q: Is the .DEH inportant? Can I play School-Doom without DeHackEd?
A: It changes only texts, like the ending story and level names. Also,
the UFO has been changed to puff instead of bleeding.
Weapons, enemy strenghts etc have not been changed, so you can play
as well without DeHackEd.
Q: Why those ridiculous pseudonymes?
F: We don't want any kind of fatwa on us only because we did this thing.
Some people just don't have a sense of humour good enough...
Go: I don't like publicity. I don't want my name to be known, I just
want my work being known.
GD : I hate my name.
Q: The story is completely sick!
Go: As the maker of the story, I can say that I'm not sick. But
the original DOOM story sucks. Which one is better? And, if you
consider the story obscene, don't think about it, just PLAY!
F: How can you tell good from bad? Who has said that the school system
isn't sick and it's a good thing to fight against it? OK, the main
character of the story isn't an anarchist and doesn't think about
anything other than killing but I hate the Good-Guy-Beats-The-Bad-Guys-
style stories. Anyway, the story is just an excuse for killing.
GD: The story is the BEST! I'm the Good Guy. I'm the Best Of All. You
are completely sick! All clear?
Q: Why is this game so violent?
Go: This is a protest against American too-liberal handgun laws. If we
all had guns with us and somebody went crazy, this would be reality!
GD: Don't ask us, ask ID Software! They made the game, we just made the
PWAD!
F: Otherwise you wouldn't play it :(
Q: Why is the crucified guy there?
GD: I don't know. He just came from somewhere.
Go: We're not worse satanists than the makers of DOOM. It's,
originally, a DOOM graph. It is the mark of the Religion Classroom,
just as the globe is the mark of the Geography Classroom. Nothing else.
Q: What about the spirits? Do you think that drinking makes you healthy?
Go: Well, in fact, we were going to replace "HEALTH" with "DRUNKNESS"
but decided to censore it.
F: Remember Prince of Persia? What about him?
GD: We don't drink, but the majority does. And this game was made for
the majority.
Q: What have you done to the cute little monsters of DOOM?
Go : We've modified or redrawn nearly all of them. Here's the list :
Trooper => The Normal Dude, The Normal Fool
Sargeant => The Member of the Nazi Gang
Imp => La Fille Fatale (Cute but Dangerous)
Demon => The Angry Teacher with Stick
Baron of Hell => The Heavily Armed Headmaster
Cyberdemon => The Hyperdemon (BIG!)
Cacodemon => Secret! (try & see)
Although the Spiderdemon and the Lost Soul are unmodified,
they still appear on the levels of this PWAD.
GD : Go on and try! You'll love them!
F: Try to find out whose souls are lost and flying around the school!
Q: Why did you do such a big work? Do you think you get something
for doing this PWAD?
F: I want to see our work to become known! Tell us you like it and
we'll like you. Make your own school level and send it to us and
we will like you even more!
Go: This is my legacy to this poor little town.
GD: There was nothing else to do.
Q: This PWAD is now complete. What are you going to do then?
F: I'll start studying to play the flute.
Go: I'm going to get out and deathmatch someone.
GD: Remember, after School's End, a very long HOLIDAY will come.
But the PWAD's never complete. We will improve it.
Q: Do you believe in GOD?
F: I have no way to prove he's not there but it's sure he has done
nothing for us.
Go: Why do you ask such stupid questions? Do YOU, by the way,
believe in God?
GD: By the way, you have a big nose.
Q: Is Windows 95 a registered trademark of Microsoft Corporation?
F: Yes, it is.
Q: What is the Serpent Staff doing in the ending picture?
GD: It's some kind of a technical device.
F: What were you expecting? Wraithverge?
Q: Is there someone you want to greet personally?
Go: Yes, there is. Personal greetings to YOU.
F: The school architects for some ideas (some?) and our hangaround members
for doing all the things they did, especially comments. Sorry,
Ostrowsky, I couldn't scale this to 6/5 because it would have taken
months!
GD: Everyone in MY school (I want to kill all of you!)
Q: Excuse me, how do I run this PWAD?
Go: You should've said that earlier!
F: Copy the Patch Wad (SCHOOLDM.WAD) to your DOOM directory, then,
from the Command Prompt, type "DOOM -FILE SCHOOLDM.WAD". A stupid
message from the authors of DOOM appears, pass it with <enter>.
Select "Start New Game" and notice that "Inferno" has been
replaced by "School-Doom". This is where the fun begins...
GD: And if you happen to speak Finnish, there is a file "PALIKKA.TXT"
designed for novices like you.
Q: What's your FINAL comment to the players?
Go: May The Force Of The BFG9000 Be With You...
GD: May The Force Be With ME...
F: And when the REAL teacher arrives, May The Force Be With You then!
