Having played Claus 1024 before this map, it just doesn't look nor play so good compared to Nil. I know it was the original, but it's not worth much more than 3/5 in my opinion.

my asshole will never close from the raping this map gave me. however I WILL PREVAIL! this wad, along with congestion 1024 kept me up until 5:00 AM on my spring break. if you want something fun, you got it. ~cson

5/5 easily, because judged on its own its a great 1024 map, but I really think this is an unnecessary release. 1024 was an awesome megawad and because of that, I feel there's no reason why a single map from this project needs its own separate release. I mean, its a great map, but why not just play the 1024 megawad instead of downloading separately one of 32 (at least mostly) awesome maps from it?

Great fun, and not as hard as reputation suggests (the lift is a good place to back up to). There's lots of ammo and the teleporting keeps you on your toes; it's fun to blast imps off the side of the level into the void, it kills them twice.

I gave it 3 stars for having voids where you fall off all the time. Not fun! Although why don't you make a Golden Axe wad? That's what the voids reminded me of. A nicely textured Golden Axe Doom would be awesome! Back to the wad: Texturing is as good as it gets, tho. However, as much as people deify good texturing, a fun map textures do not make. Movies with great effects and poor story don't get away with this, why should Doom wads?

This is one of the secret levels in the 1024 wad. The map is quite stunning combined with devilish gameplay. But it dosen't deserve 5 star rating from me, you loser! 4.9/5 -pc

Excellent design with awesome-looking textures and action-packed gameplay. Especially liked the grey textures with sp_face1-faces looking through the stone. I had absolutely no time to stand still in the map. Monsters just kept coming. Although a very hard map, I could beat it on first try on UV. Truly enjoyable 10 minutes of running, dodging & killing. ***** -Kristian Aro

lmao at the above poster. The void theme is clearly the main concept in this wad. The fact that you can fall off adds an extra level of challenge to what is an awesome wad. Maybe you should work on your spatial awareness. 5/5

      I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular.       A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

      Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

      I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
