Title : Indiana Jones DOOM ][
Filename : INDYJONE.WAD
Author : Khoi (Kevin) Pham
Email Address : khoi@cae.ca
Misc. Author Info : Another DOOM maniac (OK, what's else). Do you know
that designing your own PWAD is just as addictive
as playing DOOM ? I had a lot of fun designing
it and I hope you will too when you'll play it.
My rewards for the long hours I spent doing this
would be your feedback of what you like and
what you don't. SO PLEASE DO SO.
Major Credits to : Id Software (for this great virtual reality game).
DEU Team (Raphael Quinet), DEUTEX (Olivier Montanuy),

Additional Credits to : My Testing Team: Terry Byer, Cong Nguyen.
Levels authors that I have enjoyed playing their pwads
and have given me inspiration to design my own:
CLAUS series (Claus Nielsen), WOODHALL (David Damerell),
TRINITY (Steve McCrea, Simon Wall, E. Papavassilopoulos)
MANSION (Kevin L. Roels), TOWER (Martin C.),
SPRITEZOO (for giving me idea in one room).

* Description *
. Designed specifically for Doom II.
. This pwad is originated from an idea about reproducing the first scene from
Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark. Your mission is to get the famous
gold skull then escape the big stone rolling down, remember that scene ?
But naturally you have to overcome numerous challenges before you get there.
. I could not unfortunately find any way to reproduce the effect of the rolling
stone since DOOM is not really 3D BUT there is something similar to it and
I hope you'll like it.

* Important Hints *
. FIRST THING: The first thing you see is you are in middle of the jungle.
Note the graphics response may be a little bit JUMPY because I intentionally
ignored DOOM limitations about displaying too many things at the same time
to give you a more realistic impression that you are actually in the jungle.
So if you do not have a 486, you may choose "HEY, NOT TOO ROUGH" to start
the game. This skill level is equivalent to "HURT ME PLENLTY" except for
the FIRST battle since I want to make sure that you can survive
the INTRODUCTION of this pwad (graphics response will be normal after that).
. FULL of tricks and traps: after each door, a new venture begins.
. REACT FAST: when you enter the room which needs the BLUE key to get in,
react fast otherwise you will be in BIG BIG trouble !
. WEAPONS: The entire pwad is BEST played with "HURT ME PLENTY" skill and
with ONLY TWO WEAPONS: regular shotgun and rocket launcher. But do not
underestimate it, since even I, who know where everything is, only succeed
two out of three tries and got myself into some BAD situation if I didn't
concentrate well enough. And thanks to the dynamic features of DOOM you do
not get exactly the same scenario when you play over and over again.
. AMUNITION: There is enough amunition in each battle but do not overuse them.
. THERE IS NO NEED TO CHEAT and it is more fun this way.

* Construction *
Base : New level from scratch.
Build time : Too long, don't ask (but it has been a lot of fun).
Editor(s) used : DEUII -> EDMAP -> DEEP -> DEUTEX
Known Bugs : The only bug I know of is in the room which needs
the red key to get in: Out of the blue moon (but
NOT all the times), DOOM crashed with "No more
visplanes" error message. I think this is a limitation
of DOOM about how many visible planes (and
combinations of planes) it can display simutaneously.

my fiancee withstanding me do nothing else but playing DOOM !
