The Biovite Project v5.0

About This File

The Biovite Project is a partial conversion. It contains five maps, plus new graphics, new sounds, new music and new monsters. It's Single Player only. This wad needs a current version of ZDoom (2.1.x). It is meant to be played with jumping disabled.

If you got stuck somewhere or need help or further information, have a look at http://www.milianmusik.de/doom

You'll notice, that the maps are becoming better in quality from map to map. This is because Biovite is a longterm project and my mapping skills are still growing. There's a difference of 3 1/2 years between starting of map 01 and finishing of map 05.

I'm highly interested in your demos. Feel free to send them to the abovementioned adress. Thanks!

Wow, had this been a complete set I would have been extensive with my review. I REALY enjoyed playing this, and themes were well done! I've never seen a greenhouse in Doom before, and the extra monsters provide quite a challenge. Messages leave you vulnerable without being able to move. The secrets were just right and the music was a nice touch.

It's pretty nice, but it seemedkind of... half done. While there is some pretty nice detail in the maps and all, the overall work with the DECORATE and DEHACKED was pretty unimpressive. Scientist would charge the player, who was armed with heavy weapons, with nothing but their fists! The Guards still had the old zombie sounds and the nazis still had only one frame for firing direction. 3/5 -Craigs, AKA Black Fleet

This is very impressive. It has a wealth of great graphics and features that are sure to make it stand out from other maps. Also, you can easily tell the author put a lot of time into it as you play through the various environments. Personally, I would have liked the gameplay to be faster and less explorative but I'm sure that kind of subjectivity varies from person to person. Giving enemies a BFG is playing with fire tho :) 5/5

Pretty decent wad, but watch out for the BFG Chaingunners. You heard right, recolored Chaingunners packing BFGs! Worth a look, 3.5 stars.

That was cool, I like those gfx/music/detail WADs sometimes, but in a way it tired me after a long. The BFG troopers rulez!!!

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
