Pretty fun weapon although there are a lot of bugs to be fixed and the test map showed them and gave me some serious frustration at the end where I kept teleporting myself back to the wrong place cause they have a large width it seems which make them a nightmare in a narrow path. 4/5

The weapon is nicely done, but the test map really shows it off well. It would be nice to see this used in some real maps, but overuse of it could hurt gameplay quite a bit. However, this isn't a problem for the test map since it is intended to be puzzle-based, and it fits that purpose well. The map is clever and even has some challenging bits toward the end. This is a fun weapon mod, and is worth the download if you like to play around with stuff like this. 4/5 -Reckoner

I guess cutmanmike thinks he's so cool because he can change doom into something shitty, like portal.

Dude, amazing WAD, plus loving the quick thinking needed to do your tasks and digging the music you had with it. 5/5

this is.....GRRRRRREAT!.. ..but..if i am mistaken, i may have found a bug with this weapon. lets say if i complete a regular level(not the portal gun testing lab) with the portal gun in my possesion, and move on to the next, the teleportation won't work....i dunno if its the zdoom program or not...but..just take a look at it... but hey, no need to feel down about that, this is one of the most brilliant ideas introduced to doom. it can change the way players navigate through levels...

It's a cool concept that's amazing that it was successfully implemented, but it also garishly demonstrates Doom's terribly primitive collision detection system. The teleports rarely ever spawn where they're supposed to, which in the end is the engine's fault.

Projectiles act a bit odd if they get too close to a wall but still this is great. 5/5 - Zalewa

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
