Give me a supershotgun. Give me more ammo. Give me a room that doesn't look like all the others. Detail is good. 2/5 - Zalewa

Detail good but gameplay is crappy because there's too less ammo - Alterworldruler 3 stars

Heh, the map has a shitload of shells and some people still manage to waste enough of them to make it an issue. The map is an average quality Simplicity ripoff. 3/5 - Belial

Looks are Simplicity inspired. The level is pretty short. Short enough that I thought maybe there should have been a map02 to go with it. Nothing much to be said about the rest of the map as it all seemed pretty standard with little innovation. 3/5 - Siggi

Simplicity style map, not really inspired but well executed.

I'm getting sick of these simplicity wannabe's. Not that I like simplicity but meh. 2/5

I like the story. It gets straight to the point and there's no bull. The same is true of this map. It is a short, simple level in the modern techbase style. You fight against a modest selection of monsters with your shotgun and later on a chaingun; the big battle comes half-way through the level, although it's not hard. On the downside, the map is very reminiscent other levels, and it's a pushover. If this level was a bird it would be a Hoopoe.

Average map, with some nice, but common details. Better to have SSG for these barons. 3/5 - Damned

Why is this map 3 megs? Short and pretty boring gameplay. You can do so much more with this game and 3 megs.

A fairly tedious simpliticty knockoff. Too cramped, you end up luring the larger monsters out into the central stair area to kill them.

Hmm. This reminds me of Simplicity or my Techwars 2. I liked this map, cause tech themed maps rock, but sadly it was too short. 4/5 -Moti

Decent map with a few good fights. Nothing too challenging.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
