The Exterminator (Light version)

About This File

It's a cartoony, MSPAINT weapons mod for the latest version of ZDoom (2.1.7 as of this writing). This is supposed to be the remake of my EDGE weapons mod, Immoral Conduct: Lizard Edition (ICD-Lizard). There aren't as many weapons as ICD-Lizard but I'm sure people won't mind. There are three new enemies, but they are human enemies, not the Lizards. There will be a full version with brand new enemies that are Lizards. Unfortunately, that might not be ready for a while. Look at the textfile EXTERMINATOR-DETAILS.TXT for more info on the new things found in this mod.

This was pretty fun for something that is so simple-looking and cartoony. I didnt enjoy the mspaint graphics but at least the animations are pretty cool like the ones for the smgs, infantry rifle and the assault rifle. The sounds are cool too. The weapons seem balanced as far as I can tell.

It's surprisingly fun for something that has MSPaint graphics. The animations are decent for most of the weapons (I didn't like that SPAS shotgun or the charge cannon, personally), the new enemies are cool like that chaingunner guy, and that uzi/mac10 looking gun was cool. Too bad you got rid of those fire bombs. Those kicked ass. This was much better than your EDGE mod. You should have fixed the SPAS and the charge cannon and I wish you didn't get rid of the fire bombs. 4/5

^Yeah, I agree with the last guy. What the hell is a weapons mod doing in this section? As for the mod itself, it's interesting and different and the weapons are kinda neat, but they don't match with the default Doom textures. If only it had its own custom textures and custom enemies to match this mod and maybe even custom levels, this would be better. 4/5

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
