This is the sequel to the ill fated Dark Barren Forest. That level was a piece of crap. This is more realistic and scarier map that contains scripting, and various other features.

You are stuck alone on this island and its midnight. Its very dark, no moon and an endless ocean surrounds you. Many Stone Pillars are on this mysterious island and several dead trees. Above you is a cloudless sky and you see many stars and there is a faint blue glow on the horizon where something mysterious from far out in that ocean could be coming to get you?.

It's the same exact thing as Ghoul's Forest, only instead of crappy looking copy and pasted trees, you've got crappy looking copy and pasted pillars. The ghoul hasn't even been changed and the sounds for it are still as buggy as ever. 0/5.

If you use gzdoom and use the video renderer, you'll be killed. A message will inform you put vid_renderer 0 in your console. I did but didn't restart and it worked perfectly.... The next time I played gzdoom I had to look at the text file of ghoul forest 2 because I forgot the command. Liked the music and the ghoul sprite. Didn't like the advice in the end cause I could play this in opengl or software mode but the value of the variable vid_renderer had to be 0.Is that careful scripting? 2/5 coldfusio

"SLENDER DID THE SAME GODDAMN THING N' YOU ALL LOVE IT SO MUCH" - said in Egoraptor voice. I remember the Ghoul fad, used to see these types of maps online all the time for a couple of years there. Pcorf has great maps on /idgames, go play them instead.

This was one of the more boring Ghoul's Forest clones. There's a cooler Ghoul's Forest clone that works on Skulltag that takes place in a city.

Dude! This is one funny wad (because of the imp and marine having sex) but hard one too, some sort of monster hits you outta nowhere and you die. BOOM! DEAD! Then all the newbies are screaming for help, "Ahhhh! Help me! Something's killing everyone!" OK, so they're not saying that, (everyone is always being killed) but they're crying for help. 3/5 for humor.

An excuse to copy and paste pillars over and over again and call it a "good wad" just like ghouls forest, except that one used trees. I enjoyed neither.

haha i found the imp and marine having sex. they are in one of the corners. i am a fan of the ghoul maps and this was a good map, but not as good as ghoul. and all you who say that 1 hit kill is no fun, if you learn how to shoot fast, the wad is very easy to win. -Matt

This level works best with normal Zdoom and plays just like Ghoul2. Something interesting in the NE part of the map that might reveal that you may not be alone on the Island. -PC

      I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

      A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

      Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo.       I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
