Of all the zdoom mapsets which emulate the quakish atmosfere, this one, hands down beats all of them, this is a must! For me the highlights were the ep2&3, which somehow capture the atmosefere and feel of pure modern dooming best. I also have to comment that I liked the choice of alt. endings in ep4, as I personally really liked that "void platform part" that is cut down if you take the regular ending, in fact I wish it was somehow incorporated in the rest of the episode...

Holy crap...the best WAD ever! Fantastic gameplay, incredible detail, wonderfully designed structures, intense music, new monsters, amazing level designs, and a very linear and coherent plot! I love this WAD! It's perfect in every way, and it's worth multiple plays. It never gets old because it's so engaging and fun and epic without being confusing or redundant. This is a MUST PLAY! 5/5

It's okay, the music is good, there is the option to turn off weather effects (which is practical). The only glaring problem is the overuse of the already overused monsterpack monsters (90% of which came from monster resource wad and only had new graphics for 3% of them) and that most of the levels are way too nonlinear.

Holy shit, this is outstanding stuff! I'm impressed just by The Fury of Fire's first map. Well worth the 65 MB download if you ask me. If the rest of the wad is like this then it's an instant Cacoaward contender. 5 Stars!

I've been working on this mod for a few days now, and I've got to say that this has to be one of the best doom mods I have ever played. Yes, there are some wads that have slightly better level design or a greater weapon variety, but none of them even come close to the SCALE of UTNT. It's a wholly satisfying experience, and that's just what I've gotten from the first 3 and 1/2 episodes! It's not very often that one finds a wad that needs no alterations. UTNT is definitely one of those few. 5/5

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
