Rather simple and apart from Map05 there's no challenge. (way too much health/ammo)Only the fifth map is worth a play. coldfusio,3

3/5 stars. Good simple level idea. Low texture dynamic idea. Easy gameplay and structure idea - commercial level, with low than "average" difficulty. Low logic gameplay idea in connections between rooms, and triggers/targets. Easy secrets/ low secrets. In level 05 has problem with lifts sectors 70 and sector 118, becouse linedefs 220 (SR lift) and 590 (SR lift) have sector tag number 0. Must be change to 3 and 5. from: DOOMman

Great game play! Didn't try to reinvent the wheel or anything like most try to do now. Looking forward to the next maps. 4/5

You get 5 Small Star Wars like levels with good gameplay, Title Music is a song of mine (Thanks! :D). But the sky texture is awful and there are a few unrealistic areas such as sky windows with a room directly behind it. 2.5 Stars out of 5 -PC

Well it does look a bit bland in some places, but overall its pretty good for a player who likes small, difficult levels. Since this would be updated soon with a better sky, I'll go ahead and rate this *** and a half stars -Impboy

Not very good. Tiny, linear maps that are almost entirely halls that don't really lead to anywhere. It isn't offensively bad though.

It was good. And it was decently fun to play. The textures are decent, but the sky is not that good. The fifth level was lame though at the end. How do you expect me to get that key without being splattered to pieces? Em... 3/5.

I give this wad 5/5 stars just because of the nie gameplay and also DF textures were used alot besides doom ones.

It's ok. The level design was ok, the traps were a bit predictable (pick up an item, trap door opens and enemies pop out) I didn't like the sky texture and the textures used in this level set were kinda ugly. The music was pretty annoying, especially the one in MAP05. The Cyberdemon part was pretty lame too. 2/5.

Its, easy for pro people like me and Adam, but amateurs tend to get their asses kicked. All players must know map05 is the boss map. 3.5/5 again for effort into our work.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
