I liked the atmosphere but it could have used some more enemies. Also seemed a little too easy.

That was perculiar...I would have preferred a little more ammo at the beginnning. Those cacos were crazy o.0

Interesting concept, in that we don't often see levels with themes like this. It didn't look right when I played it myself, but my machine's pretty old, so I'll dismiss that as my software being mostly incompatible with GZDoom and no fault of the the author's. The end is a tad hectic with monsters and a cyber boss ,but otherwise nothing too difficult. 4 stars

That was interesting. I loved the atmosphere, but there should have been more enemies.

There's much more better from this author, IMHO. 3/5 Daimon

I love the author's style, but I have to admid that this map could have been done better, easily. Nice atmosphere but not so good fights. However, this is very worth a go 4/5

This is an atmospheric map that seems to be set in the land of the ice and snow, where the midnight sun and the hot springs glow. Thankfully it goes easy on the slippery ice. It works as an atmosphere piece, although as a proper level it's very square and simple. There are some new baddies, but it's not hard. There are some revenants near the start dressed as santa claus - were they supposed to attack? Hard to dislike given the seasonal ending.

This mean the level actually was made before all other known levels of Deadall and released only after a year

Funny how the vanilla version is totally different and far superior from the GZDoom version.

This guy is one of the best level designers out there, but this ain't his best. Still, it's a fun little diversion, and better than most of the crap here.

Great design, incredible that the Doom engine can do even half these things. Weak monster selection ruins the gameplay. 2/5

Quite nice looking GZDoom level that was, sadly, not all that interesting to play, and not all that engaging most of the time, particularly when gameplay consisted of killing one or two imps per tunnel for a while. 3*

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
