These remind me of the example maps that came with the map editors... I need some prozac.

We may have another very good mapper in the future. The levels are nooblevels, but they are fun to play. Please don't stop creating doom levels, we will need you in some years :-P ! 2/5

@ Pinky's Ass: Your just jealous because a 12 year old can make better maps that you. As for the maps, they're quite simple, but what else would you expect from a 12 year old. I'm 15 and I thought I was doing a good job for my age. I can't imagine my little bro making maps like these. Keep up the good work!

Not that bad, but the layout is too plain. I give 2/5 because it still have some fun in it, and it's a 12 year-old work.

My only suggestion would be that the power-ups need to be a bit more balanced... especially, to have more health and less ammo earlier on, and much more ammo in the later stages (especially to prepare for "Arachnophobia"). Overall, nice job on these stages; just keep at it!

This is certainly better than what most 12-year-olds produce: nothing. I don't mean that in a bad way. Creative outlets are very beneficial to one's ego - oops... I mean to one's psyche.

If the author is really 12 years old than I have to say: 'respect for this mapset'; but the levels are missing a higher standard i.e. architecture; creativity is present, though; keep on mapping, 1/5

Like Mattbratt's level pack with gameplay. Also pointless use of zdoom effects which adds absolutely nothing... In fact pointless use of doom effects too, like crushers in wierd places and the ability to "make the sky fall in" in one map

I found the "parallel worlds" concept of level 5 interesting, actually - the combination of horizon lines and teleporters does create a very otherworldly feeling. Other than that, I found the levels mostly forgettable, though - not abysmal, but not very interesting, either. 3/5 because of level 5.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
