About This File

I wanted to make a simple WAD with only one monster, the newbie dudes (noobs) It takes some time till you grab your first weapon, so it's all about pistol action and hopefully some challenging or fun gameplay. Yep, the soldier humans are the only monsters you will encounter here and it gets a bit harder than you think without armour at all. Later in the game you can grab some armour, few health and weapons. Just be patient and upon the noobs carefully.

Never underestimate stupid zombies in large masses :P

p.s. This is my last WAD for a long while I am into a lot of activities and recently I got a new job so it's not like the old days when I would do creative things in my PC for 10 hours. I even had to release this unfinished WAD so that I get rid of it and not have it in my mind. Needs more decoration and more ideas..

Wow, it's actually quite fun. Nice to be able to mow them all down :D

Excellent wad. Though, once you got the shotgun, you got too many weapons too fast. That, ruined it. 1 Zombieman has 20 health, 2-3 pistol hits. Now, as true as that is, it doesn't matter, there are so many zombiemen, that's why it works so damn well. 50/5

Nice level with only one type of monster, also architecture is cool. - TomoAlien

Very nice, it's quite a challenge starting out, but gets a lot easier once you get the chaingun. Lighting and shadowing is excellent too. 4/5

Lighting and shadowing is excellent? Meh! The graphic details are awful and the gameplay isn't fun, because there is only one monster type filled in underdetailed rooms. 2/5

Its quite good if you want to practice your pistol skills but the chaingun sort of ruins it

This has to be like one of the worst maps I've ever seen. Just my opinion.

I liked this all right. The zombieman is usually disregarded as being weak and useless so it's interesting to play a map where they're posing a real threat like this. As a map it's pretty mediocre but it revolves around a good idea. 3/5

Not bad. Making a map with only zombieman was an interesting idea. I had fun playing it. There are a few bugs here and there, but otherwise a well-presented idea. Good job. 4/5

I thought this was nice. noobs.wad, 2 words: Bad Ass. I loved it's design. I Thought it was pretty Tough. Like that area with all the doors, and crushers, i was expecting them to open up, and the zombiemen would rain impending doom apon me. LOL That was one of my favorite parts. The crushers helped a hell of a lot. 977 zombiemen, eh? Pretty cool. Bad ass. The designer used the zombieman effectivly. *****

LOL play this if you like manly lead, although shotgun zombies do a better job of pumping you full of hot, manly, magnum buckshot! 4/5

at first it was frustrating because of the lack of health pick-ups, but it turned out well at the end. 3/5

It was pretty fun, almost died on a few parts but had a good time. I don't know why people say the details were awful, I thought it was okay, and the lighting was nice.

That was pretty good! Though remarkably easy once the chaingun was picked up, the stage provided plenty of challenge to keep me entertained. It had enough zombies to pose a significant threat (despite their low HP, their hitscan attacks more than speak for themselves, especially when the player lacks armor), without becoming boring or redundant. 5 stars!

This is dated July 2008. It's a concept level where you fight zombiemen - 1520 of the little bastards, who mob you and chip away your health. Design-wise it's a non-linear classic-style techbase, a bit spartan, some bugs. It gets easier as it goes along; the start is quite tricky, but the majority of the baddies are in a parking lot-type area with crushers and plenty of space. On the whole it takes the concept as far as it can go.

Hmm, that one was pretty good. The crusher part saved a lot of job. I've actually never seen a map with over 1500 monsters of the same kind, especially not Zombiemans. It played well, and that's what matters. 4/5 - Moti

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
