About This File

This is my very first released level. It's supposed to take place in a UAC military station that has been invaded by demons. Not much else to say, really. I hope you don't hate it too much, being it is my first released map...

Oh, and, this is an oldschool type map that, as far as I tested it, works with vanilla Doom.

Small and simple but plays nicely for what it is, and is pleasingly compact in the way that starter maps of an episode often are. I liked how the route cycled around the map (good gameplay logic). As others say this feels like an intro piece for a larger map or full episode of classic type... which I look forward to seeing, as this map shows much promise. ~REZ~

I find it hard to believe that it took you an hour to make this map, but anyway I wish you had spent longer. This map made me feel that you need to focus less on detail and more on design and flow. The first reviewer's language is styleless, I confer.

This type of map would probably make a good first map 1 for a mapset (and judging by the fake door in the exit, it may be the first map to a mapset, otherwise large fake doors are generally a bad idea.) I am surprised at the attitude of the first reviewer. Have people really become so hard to please these days? 3/5 stars -Lupinx-Kassman

Waterworld: "It looks like shit!" Just kidding! This map isn't the biggest, but I remebmer my first map... awful. Your map is much better than my first. And... i'm surprised about the first commente here. He probably didn't make any map :) 4/5 * -dddddddd160 (Youtube account)

I think it is good for a first wad: good light effects and good texture placement, but the level is very short and not very chalenging. Over all 3/5 :D

Not very large but a decent job for a first release.

Nice green theme, the gameplay is pretty much nonexistent.

Heh shortest Ultimate DooM map ever. 11 enemies? Yeah. Thats not a lot, but its average for a beginner map. Not bad either if you're looking for a quick Ultimate DooM experiance. 3/5.-Candle M

For a first map this is pretty good, although very basic and easy. 3 Stars

This feels like only about 10% of a level. Looks good but with only 11 easily dispatched enemies is far too easy and short. 3/5

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
