Overplayed to the point of causing PTSD upon seeing it again

A great but troubled mod. If you can find an older version hosted somewhere it's fine, but avoid fan classes like the plague, they're terrible. Caught a lot of flak for "stealing players from Doom" which is ridiculous to anyone with a brain.

It's enjoyable playing as Jitterskull, he's very fun to play with.

This shit gob smackingly plunged ST into an abyss from which it will never escape from. Effectively wiping out underplayed gamemodes, One Flag CTF, Possession, Terminator anyone? Pfft.

Probably going to be one of the best wads of the year all together. So much fun, and even the most noobish ghoul players (such as myself) can get into it and have fun. Simply Legendary, 5/5

Tons of fun online. Hours would have been wasted, but my router was apparently designed to prevent just that and keeps disconnecting me. :( *****

Very good, though the problems arise. Hitscanning marines are an annoyance on BOTH sides. there either instantly killing you from across the map, or stealing your kills. Other then that, its pretty balanced. Other then the marine it's 5/5

This gets addictive easily, and is one of my favorite LMS (Last Man Standing) maps. In my opinion, this map earns a 4.75 out of 5 (loses 0.25 due to a few issues, such as 1 vs.1 on a camping creeper ,esp. with teamspeak off, and because combat is in "a triangle", i.e the marine has an easy time killing the SJAS while the SJAS could kill a Cyborg who can kill a Jitterskull.) To offset those who gave this wad a 0, I will give it a 5/5.

I have to admit I was a bit sceptical when everyone was telling me to play this WAD, reason being that I thought that the "ghoul series" was an absolute joke. I finally caved and decided to check it out. While things were a bit crazy at first I slowly adjusted to the hectic gameplay and found myself among the many addicted GVH players. I'm am yet to refresh IDE without being able to find a player who's up for some GVH. If that isn't an indication of a decent WAD I don't know what is. 5/5 -Mason

A fantastic mod for skulltag. Haven't stopped playing since it's release and there's always a game with like 10+ players in its nuts. If you haven't played it, stop looking at the stupid comments above and just check it out, you will not regret *****

It's not my thing honestly, but the effort put into this is incredible. I really LOLed at all those haters, too stubborn to get used to something different. This is what keeps the community alive! 4/5

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
