About This File

8-map hub set in the Black Mesa military-industrial facility within the Half-Life universe. The game is story-driven and features multiple objectives. It uses the excellent textures of Half-Life, sprite-based enemies and non-player characters from Half-Life, models (some of them interactive), true 3D environments and other features of GZDooM. Tested with GZDooM

It is better to get "Half Life 1" the original version than this "Half Life Doom"! The graphics are way better in "Half Life 1"!

Bit on a difficult side, sadly for wrong reasons. Abundance of hitscan enemies and Doom just don't go together. Still pretty enjoyable...

Is this still Doom or is it Half-Life? NOBODY KNOWS! Seriously, if not for sprite-based enemies and weapons, this would look and feel exactly like HL.

Fantastic stuff, maps are incredibly detailed and feel like they are taken straight out of Half Life engine. Work that was done in recreating HL's visuals, gameplay, weapon behavior... is just incredible. Also - this is pretty difficult stuff, for example soldiers might lack their famous AI but they hit as hard as ever (however I think that large numbers of highly damaging hitscan enemies might be a big turn-off for more conservative doomers).

Half-Life + DooM engine = This. Just awesome, even it's not 100% to original (GoldSource engine of) Half-Life but it's the best for DooM engine, damn! :D 5/5 -playerlin

A real professional work in Gzdoom. Best TC I've played, better than Batman or Zombies. Another candidate that deserves a cacoward along with Unloved and Dawn of reality, but I think that a TC should not compete in it. It's not Half-life, but it's equality funny. Models are bigger than sprites, for criticizing something. Almost perfect 10/5.

This excellently recreates half-life while still using doom-style run and gun gameplay. However, it also brings along with it the negatives of half-life gameplay. But, that is mostly overshadowed by the technical genius behind the recoil script, much better than that shitty one from Cold As Hell. It is about as long as the original Half-life and has the same strange level progression. My only complaint is no Gman, especially considering Thanatos was on the team.

Really awesome TC one of the best I ever tried. Too bad the latest GZdoom is eating up 500Mb of memory and causing massive lag whenever I try and play. So I couldn't really play it that much. 5/5 -Bishop

What's the deal with all the "FILE IS OVER 50MB" comments? Anyway, this is an excellent TC whether you are a fan of HL1 or not. Possibly the best Rex's work (certainly my personal favorite).

      I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

      A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

      Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

      I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
