About This File

after wasting the lives of many soldiers that proved unsuitable for their missions, Earth Defense Forces decided to revert to a class of ancient and fearsome warriors, equipped with old and trustworthy weapons, but also with new and prototypical ones tailored specifically for the occasion. Will you be able to honor the way of a SHINOBI?

** NOTE ** for the first time in my creations, I am ditching reload altogether. Enjoy arcade style! ;-)

I would only make some balance adjustment (i.e. more spawned gripbombs, less batteries, rockets start aiming faster) but otherwise the set is quite solid. Played on original Scythe and found it good, mostly on later levels. 4*

LOL @ x_MaimerFaggot_x. Anyway, I like to have more than a bland melee weapon and a couple of machine guns in a weapons mod. Maybe if you could give it a combo system, I would be more willing to play this.

The melee weapons are kind of awkward to use, and I never did like the powerslave-looking weapons and I never did think that all the weapons had to be animated at 35 frames per second. This was just too gimmicky for me to enjoy. It's about on par with your other works, rsl. 3/5

Nothing special. Not explicitly bad, but not something worth shouting about either.

Should've used a reload feature. Also, Weapons wads look best when they retain the style of the rest of the game's sprites. Otherwise, they just look out of place. 3/5 because for the most part, it's well balanced.

IMHO the purpose of a weapon mod is to put you in another character's clothes (or weapons) and give you a different style of play. I guess this one did it, and also quite well. A few balance issues I had, but overall really nice. >Lupe

Needs a bit of work, kinda hit and miss. I might write up a review of each weapon in the mod's thread. The rifle grenade has a really short arc, and the rocket launcher is way too similiar to the Shadow Warrior launcher. The lightning cannon is neat. The resources were used in a little known Shadow Warrior modification, so it'd be best to change "new from scratch" if you upload a new version.

Holy crap! This guy keeps pooping mods around, and they're all that good! Although sprite pallete is improvable, this is good set with peculiar style! -FD

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
