Overview
========
This archive contains the complete MIDI Soundtrack from TeamTNT and Team
Eternal's "Eternal DOOM". Also included in the archive are several bonus MIDI
files, images, and other miscellaneous Eternal DOOM and Eternal DOOM Soundtrack
related material.
Eternal DOOM is an EXCELLENT thirty-four level add-on episode for id Software's
DOOM II, and "ETERNAL DOOM III" (the third installment of the Eternal DOOM
series) was released in November of 1997. More information about TeamTNT, Team
Eternal, and Eternal DOOM can be found at the following web sites on the

Eternal DOOM Soundtrack MIDI Playback Hints and Tips
====================================================
SoundFont Compatible MIDI Hardware Synthesizers
-----------------------------------------------
The Eternal DOOM Soundtrack is best experienced using true Creative Labs EMU
SoundFont based MIDI hardware sound cards, such as an EMU-8000 based "AWE32" or
"AWE64", an EMU-10K based "Audigy" or "Sound Blaster Live!", or an EMU-20K
based "X-Fi". Note that it is recommended to enable EAX (Environmental Audio
Effects) MIDI reverb when using any of the EMU-10K or EMU-20K based sound
cards.
Also, I HIGHLY recommend my own custom freeware SoundFont "¥Weeds¥ General MIDI
SoundFont v3.0" to load into these sounds cards to listen to the MIDI files the
way that they were originally intended to be heard, in verbatim (in other
words, so that you can "hear what I hear"). More information and downloads for
¥Weeds¥ General MIDI SoundFont v3.0 can be found at my web site at
http://www.richnagel.net/#soundfonts (or
http://www.simpilot.net/~richnagel/#soundfonts) on the Internet.
SoundFont Compatible MIDI Software Synthesizers
-----------------------------------------------
If you do not have an actual hardware SoundFont compatible MIDI sound card, the
second best method for listening to the Eternal DOOM Soundtrack is by using
Un4seen Developments' freeware media player "XMPlay" (with it's optional
SoundFont compatible "XMPlay MIDI Plugin" installed). More information and
downloads for XMPlay and the XMPlay MIDI Plugin can be found at my web site at
http://www.cmoo.com/snor/weeds/SoundFonts/XMPlay/XMPlay.htm and
http://www.cmoo.com/snor/weeds/SoundFonts/XMPlay/XMPlay.htm#midi on the
Internet.
Lastly, another excellent alternative for listening to the Eternal DOOM
Soundtrack is by using Kode54 and MudLord's freeware "BASSMIDI SoundFont
Compatible MIDI Synthesizer Driver". More information and downloads for the
SoundFont compatible BASSMIDI Driver can be found at my web site at
http://www.cmoo.com/snor/weeds/SoundFonts/XMPlay/XMPlay.htm#bassmididriver on
the Internet.
As mentioned above, I also recommend my own custom freeware SoundFont "¥Weeds¥
General MIDI SoundFont v3.0" to load into these SoundFont compatible MIDI
software synthesizers to listen to the MIDI files as close as possible to the
way that they were originally intended to be heard.

"Eternal DOOM Score"
Small musical clip used for the background MIDI music for my main web page.
Based on the song "Eternal DOOM" from Map05 of Eternal DOOM.

"DOOMin': Live"
Yamaha XG arrangement of the song "DOOMin'" from Map26 of Eternal DOOM. Note
that this MIDI file requires Yamaha XG compatible MIDI hardware (or the Yamaha
S-YXG50 software synthesizer). Otherwise, it will sound EXTREMELY strange
(when played on non-XG compatible MIDI hardware).

"Eternal DOOM Unofficial Poster"
This image file is an 800x600 high-resolution "poster" for Eternal DOOM. The
image consists of a choice screenshot from "The Abbey" (Map07), with all of
the names of the Team Eternal members. The image is suitable for printing (I
suppose), or for use as Windows wallpaper.
"Eternal DOOM Poster.png" 150,296 bytes 11-14-1997 12:00am
"FRAG YOU TOO!!!"
This image file is one of the two non-music resources that I contributed to
Eternal DOOM. The image is a censored modification of the "MOD_U2" computer
monitor texture within the game, "FRAG YOU TOO!!!".
"Mod_U2.png" 2,631 bytes 12-31-1996 12:00am
"Welcome to Eternal DOOM!"
This vocal sound effect file is one of the two non-music resources that I
contributed to Eternal DOOM. The sound effect can be heard when starting the
"Eternal Shell" front-end menu utility included with the game, as well as
within several sections of the game itself. And yes, that's actually me...
with a bit of digital editing using "Cool Edit Pro" and "GoldWave" <GRIN>!

Hardware and Utilities
======================
The entire Eternal DOOM MIDI Soundtrack was composed on a Creative Labs
WaveBlaster I and three Creative Labs AWE32s; an 8MB EMU Technologies
soundbank, a 24MB Sonido Media soundbank, and numerous other custom EMU
Technologies and Sonido Media soundbanks loaded into 96MB of on-board AWE32
RAM; a Casio CZ-1 keyboard (yeah, I know it's old... damn thing weighs a ton
too <GRIN>); and using Twelve Tone Systems' Cakewalk Professional v3.01.
More information and downloads for Cakewalk Professional v3.01 (the best MIDI
sequencer EVER created!) can be found at my web site at
http://www.richnagel.net/#cakewalk (or
http://www.simpilot.net/~richnagel/#cakewalk) on the Internet.
