3 stars because it's not the best wad imo. Map design is not my favourite because I spent too much time on switch-hunts and stuff. I expected more from level 30 too. Music is too annoying (read f**ing annoying) as well, although there are couple of nice tunes in some levels. The teleporter puzzel in map 8 was a pain in the ass and absolutely not fun to do. Some levels were impressive though coz they looked well organized and were fun to play.

Better than AV. The pure classic mapping here, and all was done by the single person!

when a wonderful refers a 0 rating wad is very suspected like a 0 in a recognized masterpiece. But it is not important. Those who have fun with this great game called Doom can distinguish shit from the caviar. 5/5

I'm having a hard time being decisive with this. I want to love it, but MAP31 and some of the battles in the last 10 or so maps definitely struck me as more frustrating than challenging. It fulfills the MM-alike role very well and its a high quality .WAD, but I rate mostly on fun and I've definitely had more playing .WADs this year (Doom Core springs to mind, as does the aforementioned PRCP), so I'll go with the average (at this time) and say 4* -Phobus

Outclased by Vanguard and PRCP, yet well worth the playtime. GJ vf!

Maps towards the end of the first episode (8, 10) are pretty huge, contain puzzles and make it hard to keep your bearings (same goes for secret level). However, the rest of the megawad is well done and offers pretty enjoyable design plus continuity between the different maps. Music is outstanding as well. It's a pretty classic experience which I liked, even though Jenesis is a bit better, especially regarding architecture. Anyway, this has earned its Cacoaward. 5/5 - NightFright

This wad deserves a sequel. I hope you make one, I really hope so.

An awesome wad! Easily 5 stars, superb gameplay and great level design. My only regret is that Megadoomer micromanaged and controlled the project thread, while overhyping and flaunting it in others to the point where it left a bitter taste in my mouth. However I won't mark it down because it's VF's project and not Megadoomer's

Reverie is a really nice megawad - lots of fun to play. The overhyping was not by the author, so it would be a shame if it harmed the community's view of this fun and unpretentious project.

I like it, polished gameplay. But there's too many cramped maps and doors that interrupt flow for me to love it. 4/5

Very solid wad with lots of variety. The gameplay is the creative thing going on here as the author doesn't focus too highly on detail which is understandable as a vanilla wad. Some bits people will like, some people won't. It can be a bit hit and miss, but it's a great effort for one man especially as this is the second megawad by the author out this year. 4 stars, cannonball

What can I say? One of the best and most satisfying Doom II megawads I've played in a long long time. Absolutely brilliant!

Just shows how terrible this rating system is when people can spam 0/5 votes for a wad that is clearly a 4.5/5 or higher. Nice work Valikiriforce!

^Look at the text file, it's a small mistake and it only picked up the build time for the first level. This wad is incredibly awesome BTW! 5/5, the new MM(2)/Requiem

As I started to play through this megawad, I wasn't quite amused. But later I got used to that style and enjoyed it. Not every map was perfect, but it brings some interesting ideas. And the original music is great and fits. 4/5 Oldschool Doom fans could add 1* ;) - Damned

You MUST hear the music. Seriously, download this wad for that reason even if you have no interest at all in anything else. That aside, I did like it quite a bit too, in spite on any flaws, I found it good fun overall. Like I said in Eternally Yours, you might want to play that first to make sure you don't mind the style, in a more limited (single-episode) outing. If you enjoy that there should be enough for you in here to play it. Personally I do give it a recommendation. -kakhome1

Reverie is an immense undertaking and should be commended for representing the best of doom's mapping history. It manages to use every editing trick known to man with seamless ease. The musical score is fantastic. However, I will say that Mr. Krizik's erratic, somewhat aimless, style of mapping feels at times awkward, and the gameplay flow falters at times, but such things can easily be overlooked in the face of the wad's shear brilliance! 5/5 -FoH

Good to see another megawad fill the shelves: It's not my cup of tea but I'll appreciate the classic feel it has. Cramped everywhere so playability takes a huge hit. bland areas too. 3/5

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
