About This File

'Domestic' level of Doom situated in a real house with beds, cupboards, sofa and idromassage baths!

Is an attempt to use the powerful engine of Doom to feign an real architectonic ambient (in this case that's my house).

For a realistic exploration you should choose one of the two easiest levels (there aren't any monsters and all the keys are disponible). Then you choose the arm #1 (it's not polite to go in the house of the others with a gun aimed at the man's hight :)). In certain moments you'll be tele-trasported: it's a necessity becouse the real ambient has three flors and Doom don't allow this kind of things.

If you prefer to do this exploration more violent, just try it. All the other levels are perfectly playable.

I wait for your comments and suggestions.

For a late 1995 wad, it just OK. Looks like the author like put his photo as textures in the secret room...

Another "my house" wad. That ought to be enough to describe this, and the filename conveniently does it for you. Also, RL is now following the path of Perseus, and I would not terribly be surprised if they were the same person.

I played it, I don't understand why people think it sucks. I think it's great. 45 points, would be 55 if the secret room behind the fireplace wasn't lined with weird textures.

Well, the WAD is nothing spectacular, but it's not total trash as some reviewers up there said. Well, gonna give this 2/5. -TomoAlien Also to some people above me... This database also counts as an archive. That means no matter how terrible the wad is, if it was on any of /idgames archives or is a wad that was on other site but the author allows you to spread it, then it is fully privileged to be here.

Good on you, RL. Don't stop until there are no more WADs to upload.

Not such a bad map. RL's reputation as an uploader of only good wads carries far more weight than some of the silly comments above.

Doom Bedroom Syndrome. Wasn't too bad, but I got lost at times. Frequent eyesores as well. Also, it's pretty hard to believe this is your house. Are you rich? :P Anyways, it was fun for a single playthrough, but it's probably not something that i'd replay. 3/5 -Aenima

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
