Nice short map, lighting is cool, but the indoor area just so bright for no reasons, and make it looks doesn't fits the rooftop areas...gameplay just OK...overall it's so good, should do more!:D 4/5 -playerlin

Sort-of style showcase. Style is quite cubic, not bad, but gets boring quickly. Map layout is simple. Gameplay is almost absent. Rated as a showcase: 3*, but as a playable map: meh.

Good for a quick session of Doom. Takes about 3 minutes to beat.

Not bad. Very simplistic in design and short, but it's not a bad map to playthrough. The interior of the building is a bit too bland looking. 3/5

Strange map, the rooftop is well designed, looks good and uses some nice combat sequences exploiting the design of the area. The indoors area is very bland and boring, almost like it was attached to the rooftop part of the level. 3 stars.

I like this level because of theme, unique shadows, simplicity. Also noticed, different difficulty yields quite different placing of items, something I rarely see in WADs. 5/5 - Optimus

It's actually pretty good! Lighting is superb, though it is, as mentioned, a bit short, and the techbase could use with a bit more design. 4/5

Very attractive level. Love the shadows! Very solid design too, and I like how the difficulty settings make a real difference. I only wish it was longer, but then it would be hard to stretch the concept further. I also don't like how I can't pick up the chainguns from the dudes on other rooftops, but then I'm an obsessive compulsive.

Decent rooftop map with realistic shadows. The insides of the main building look a bit crappy due to autoalign abuse. Cute "park".

Really nice. Love the lighting and the shadows; my only complaint is that it's too short. 4/5 - ZZ

It's a pretty n00b map but fun for the 3 minutes it takes on ultraviolence. The inside of the building could do with more detail to match the outside. It's definitely not a coop map or a deathmatch one though.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
