About This File

First off, you can't win.

Monster spawning pads surround the center area, which is where you spawn, and where ammo and some health spawns. There's cover around the base, and towers connected to it that teleport you in and out of the base. Your goal is to kill as many demons as possible. You will die. There is no win condition. But there is a score!

As you kill monsters, the spawned monsters will get stronger and stronger. If you stop killing monsters, the spawned monsters get weaker. Killing monsters gets you health and ammo, so if you're low on health and there aren't any pickups you can see, well... hope you don't get sniped.

There's also a minimap which tracks you, and the monsters surrounding the map - bigger dots means bigger baddies. Use it to more intelligently attack areas, or figure out where to run the hell away from.

I added explicit support for Samsara 0.29b and Lelweps v7. If you don't know what those are, don't worry.

The idea of this map are good and it's would be fun when playing multiplayer sessions with this map. Whole map just good enough and with some structures and obstructions to stop monsters' attack. Not really feel good with have to jump back to the teleport room with jumppad as sometimes when shit get busy, it would caused accident deaths if missed the door.

But I suck at it, hitscan monsters can take you down if not careful, sadly I'm with the reviewer from T/nc #442: I feel bored after just few minutes, but I can see if you're fan of this style of gameplay, you can have good time with this.  4/5

Well I just played this for about half an hour straight and it's pretty damn good. Used Zandronum, ran fine, music was surprisingly good, i'd like to hear more! Yeah, died about a dozen times, with the last time i cheated by quicksaving every 50 mobs. Looking forward to more from you - 4.5/5 Bukkake Windmill

Loved this, got to 11400 with 1 life and no saves, only lag killed me tbh. Very fun, mapping could have been a little better I guess.

This is a pretty neat gameplay mod. I'd love to see something of this sort applied to different maps, though I don't really have any qualms with the current one as is. 5/5

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
