The only problem I had with this map was that the final battle was a little unfair but other than that it's pretty good

In fact, I would say that this is what I would expect from an official level of any other Boomer Shooter, especially if you add the Flashlight++, it adds a vibe of a current Boomer Shooter in mine level

I loved it

Uh, no Terrytrap in here. But just a nicely done map with good gameplay.

Nice looking map with few serious gameplay flaws. 1) Missing regular CG, 2) -> Wrong AJ-req secret (evident miss for FDA because low health supplement), 3) -> Monster attack after RK pickup is a bit too rough, 4) Mancubus don't teleport quite often, 5) Final zombiman's spawn is tedious.

Just played it with FSRCustard Doom mod, really enjoyed it. IMO, UV difficulty was absolutely perfect, not needing 12 barons of ass-fucking to come out of closets. Really strategic shooting. Music was nice, graphics for vanilla were really good, but maybe could've fleshed out the cavern walls or something (too much granite/white for me but whatev). Low number of health kits so stay on your toes. Very good map, 4/5 - Bukkake Windmill

I really liked it. The Red Key trap was a bit of a challenge, but alot of fun. The only small gripe I had is that when the zombiemen were teleporting in, I accidentally figured out that the teleport was the exit, ending the game prematurely. Other than that, it was pretty darn good. Cant wait to see what you have in store next. 4/5.

@Doomkid: seriously, are you rating your own map or so? A 5-star really needs way better architecture (which is at most average), texture usage (which is very simple), and for all: way better gameplay (which is, played @ UV, mostly simple and frequently even poor). Author shows potential, but beside the nice 3D bridges, this map is plain average, so 3/5.

Excellent map. Ignore the trolls, this is not a terrywad. If I give it 5 stars, you know it isn't.

An ok map, but nothing more. A bit too short.

Exciting gunfights and interesting use of textures; absolutely not a terrywad, of course. Gameplay is fun for the most part, but the red key's placement was a little iritating. Low amount of supplies, both on ammo and health; additional non-secret chaingun could have wiped out the problem, IMO.

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
