Cool detailing and tricks but some problems with the gameplay and monster placement. For a first map it's very impressive. Maybe more space, less big monsters and some outdoor areas.

Needlessly complex, unfairly balanced, almost unplayable. Potential from author in the future but not yet. - The Big Robb * Played with BD Sperglord edition

This is an awesome map! Is a bit cramped, though.

Sort-of inner spaceship / plant / tech mine map. Shown technical skills: 4*. Map layout: 3* with too many rectangular areas & narrow corridors. Decoration & ambiance: 3.5-4*. But now the problem: gameplay is primitive and repetitive thus predictable and dull to the max. Monster placement is about as cheap as possible with f.e. the usual popups. Overall playing it gave no fun due to its lack of variation. Author shows promise but might consider using beta testers. 3* as encouragement.

Impressive effort for a first map, considering the size of it, almost ridiculous detail-work and amount of cool Zdoom tricks you used. So, 4 star rating on account of all that combined. Gameplay, on the other hand... I fully agree with two previous comments in that regard. I hope you will keep mapping, and put more effort into gameplay balancing next time!

Very detailed, and it is nice to see GZDoom features being used in a way that enhances level design rather that purely for aeshetics - so +1 for usage of 3D floors (altho, at this point i am becoming more and more happy to see a serious wad that uses GZDoom features in ANY WAY:( ). Sadly, map is too cramped, traps sometimes too cheap, enemies too hard hitting and healing items to few. Result: slow, unnecessarily frustrating map.

Hmm... Awe-inspiring usage of detail and textures, but the gameplay is too monotonous and one-sided. Too cramped areas that impede player's movement, monsters have way too much health (making them overpowered) and combat consists of peekaboo shot-and-pop style, again and again for too long time. Also, due to horrendous random ambushes, the challenge is harsh and sometimes unfair, while tedious for the rest of time. 3/5, and I'd rate lower if it wasn't for the great visual aspect.

Looks awesome, but design is awkward to navigate around. Not enough space. Too many uses of enemy teleportation spawning. Gave up 5 minutes in due to lack of ammo/weapons/health. Mapper has a lot of potential though. *Played with BD Sperglord - The Big Robb)

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
