It's been over 10 years since I did any Doom editing. I was building
a script to make SVG images from Doom maps when I came across 2 maps I made
for a DOOM Episode 1 level pack. I was working on this with a person named
"Stitches", but it was never finished. The only trace I could find of this
project, originally called Star Portal Crisis, was a Legacy movie demo WAD I
made back in 2002! And this didn't use any portions from levels that we
specifically created for the project.
Since the levels never got a proper release, I decided to jump back into
Doom editing, at least to get them published. Since I have no way to contact
the other author, I am only releasing the two levels I built, plus a new E1M1
so the player doesn't have to worry about selecting the right level.
The old maps were made with WinDEU (ewww, I know) and the new map plus editing
was done in Doom Builder. The maps are meant to be played in order, and I
spent the most time tweaking the Ultra-Violence difficulty. The difficulty and
light levels were tweaked using Chocolate Doom, so some ports may be too bright,
or make things too easy.
