Goofy Description:
==============================================================================
I've worked on this silly level for over six months now and
I have often wondered why. For some reason beyond my control, I could
not stop adding sectors.. they began to take over my life..until I could no
longer focus on anything other than sectors..sectors.. and more sectors....
Sectors everywhere. They're driving me MAD!...MAD I TELL YOU!! Anyway, I've
finally kicked the habit (for now- deathmatch levels are on there way).
I would like to take this moment to discuss the inner workings of Too Dark
Park. It is a special level. It is dedicated to the memory of Dwayne R.
Goettel of the late "industrial" band Skinny Puppy whom without which, many
of you NIN fans out there just may not have existed. Brap on...The Process
awaits us! Now then, as for the technical Doom stuff, this is a very large
level meant to be played single player. If you don't enjoy hunting for your
frags, just stick to single player for this one (although a 4 player
deathmatch may not be so bad).
Because I couldn't keep myself from constantly adding new sectors, those
of you with "slower" machines may find that your game runs slow in certain
areas of the map... it shouldn't be as bad as some large maps though. This is
not a die and start over again and again level- I tried to disperse the
monsters evenly and to not create a level full of "boss monsters" who want to
destroy and kick your butt over and over again.
Hopefully you should find this level less impossible than most of the
mid-range IWADS in Doom2.
*There is, however, one secret area in the level which needs to be uncovered
in order to make successful completion -more- possible. It is an area where
you will find alot of fun ammunitions (and a few nasty bad guys as well).
Being a large area in and of itself, discovery of this area should ensure that
weapons aren't exhausted, yet may prove to be a challenge to exit back to the
normal areas.*
Lastly, have a good time with this level. Alot of time was spent on
textures!
