Title : NCC-1701-E (Nova Class) for DOOM II
Authors : D&E DOOM Modifications Ltd.
(Devin E. Steinke & Evan M. Ross)
Email Address : emr@gpu.srv.ualberta.ca
Description : This level was modeled around the Starship
Enterprise NCC-1701-D. It was built around
multi-player mode of play but is a VERY
challenging and exciting level for one player
as well. This level was released Jan 22, 1996,
even though it's still not finished. As soon as
Quake is released, we figure DOOM will be a
thing of the past, and we'll be able to build
bigger and better levels for Quake.

Note: most of the graphics relating to this wad were created a long time
ago in the days of Doom I version 1.2. We cannot successfully
integrated them into a PWAD suitable for use with DOOM2 v1.9.
However, you may want to try inserting them directly into your
DOOM2.WAD file for the full experience. These graphics have been
included in this distribution as a separate archive. There are,
however, some new graphics created recently that are critical to
the level and have been included in the main PWAD (NCC1701E.WAD).
* Construction *
Base : New level from scratch
Build Time : Years
Editor(s) used : A whole bunch, but DEEP was the only one able
to handle the immense complexity of the level near
the end of development.
Known Bugs : Due to the complexity of this wad, minor clipping
at certain points is simply inevitable.
* Hints *
Because of the complexity of this level, we have inclosed a hints section
to help you finish the level (not including finding all of the secrets of
course). Your first task should be to find the yellow keycard. Its not
too far from 10 forward (the first room you start). The door to the
transporter room will then lead you to a series of switches. The first
is in engineering. This will open a switch in the right warp nacell.
Pressing the switch in the right nacell will open the way to a switch in
the left nacell. This makes a switch in the observation deck (in the
arboretum) avalible. This final switch presents you with the blue key
card to exit the bottom half of the ship (the end is the most likely place
you would fly home in). Don't forget the red keycard as you perform these
tasks. It was last seen being sucked out an airlock.
* TrueSpace (TM) *
What we have done with the windows of the Enterprise is instead of pasting
a 2 dimentional picture of space that becomes less detailed as you get
closer to it, we have made it so you can accualy look out the window and
see a 3 dimentional universe that is richly detailed. in doing this we
can also incorperate a space walk effect while walking through this 3D
universe. We call this TrueSpace (TM)
