As you wake up in the morning you ask yourself: "What's going on here? Where am I?" The last thing you can remember is going to bed after a long night of playing DOOM II on your computer. As you open your eyes you slowly realize that you are sitting in a classroom in your school. You think to yourself: "Oh no, did I fall asleep in class again?" You look up from the table and see your teacher writing something on the black board. You wonder:"Oh, he grew a beard. .... on his BACK?" At once you're awake. You notice a shotgun to your right and a big spider outside.

"OOOHHH NOOOO, I'M DOOMED."

"I have to find a way out of this level!!!"

I don't know if this wad is good or real bad: sound effects are insane, monster placement is insane and some usage of invisible walls in strategic places but also have a nice layout and level is fun to play with his easy going, cartoon-ish feel, overall. Acceptable.

School level. Not too bad layout, lots of new, sadly mostly primitive, textures. New sounds are, sorry for my language: childish. Gameplay is way too poor for even remotely considering a 2nd run. Nofi, but all-over it looks like a classical project for 12 year old kids rebuilding their own school. Overall, playing it did not give enough fun, so despite the effort: at best meh.

Needs more monster one-liners. 11/10 No, really, it's awesome, even today. Custom textures are a bit cartoonish, but they're alright.

An interesting level, one of the few good school/university levels. The custom graphics aren't professional quality but they do the job. It's a rather long level, and it took me 19:37 to complete. The mere two zombiemen guarding the exit was a letdown after having gotten the BFG moments earlier. 3.5/5. --Woolie

Pretty Good for 1996 other then the ugly MS paint stuff and Weapon Sounds and the annoying music. 4 Stars for the Design and I guess Effort and the story. Give it a try people.

Nice design, good music choice, and wacky SFX are all a plus. But the fact that you can't get very far without being mowed down by umpteenmillion SS soldiers right out of the start room (thanks to the windows not being impassable) is too much of a letdown for a good rating. 3/5

What kind of school you go to that you guys have bullet packs in toilets and scrolling walls in bathrooms? Except very annoying sounds and crappy textures, this is really dang good level. Giving 5 stars for the effort and, of course, it was fun!

Pretty cool. One of the better looking school themed levels. This is one long ass level with lots of bad guys to gun down. DON'T FORGET TO KILL THEM AAAAAAAAAAALL!!!!!! Lol.

      I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

      Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason.       A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

      Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

      I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
