* Warnings *
This WAD should be compatible with any DOOM or DOOM II. However, it has
only been tested on Ultimate Doom and DOOM II 1.9. Use earlier versions
at your own risk. In particular, DOOM I 1.666 seems to have trouble with
music WADs.
This WAD should work in any mode, single, co-op, or deathmatch. However,
some have experienced problems with music WADs in multiplayer (I believe
this is why the music wad in MM2 was released separate from the levels).
If you have trouble, try again; if it still doesn't work you'll have to
stick to single player for times when you want to use this WAD.
* Copyright / Permissions *
Authors MAY use this level as a base to build additional
levels, since I hold no copyright to the music - it was all taken from
various locations around the Net.
This file may be distributed anywhere. Please do not separate it from
the credits file (D?UMP61.LST) or this text file (UDMUSP61.TXT) however,
and don't modify the file and say you made it yourself. That's wrong,
and if you do that I will have to get my rocket launcher and hunt you
down.
* Where to get this WAD *
Since this TXT and the WAD are packaged together, it's likely you already
have found the WAD. In case you haven't, the most recent version of the
Ultimate Music Patch for DOOM and DOOM II is found on ftp.cdrom.com as
UDMUSPxx.ZIP where xx is the version number. I recommend the mirror
ftp.sunet.se however, as it seems to be the fastest one I've tried. I guess
there aren't that many Doomers in Sweden.
* REVISION HISTORY *
v1.0 to v3.0 - these were skipped, to avoid confusion with the DM2MUS1.WAD
through DM2MUS3.WAD available on cdrom.com (the file was originally named
D2MUS4.WAD)
v4.0 - Initial alpha, not released to public.
v4.0a - Alpha, not released
Replaced MAP18's James Bond theme with a better-sequenced version
Replaced MAP32's Woman in Love with Metallica's Harvester of Sorrow
v4.2 - Alpha, not released.
Music list file format revised.
Replaced MAP01's Revolution with Staying Alive
Replaced MAP02's Only You with Woman in Chains
Replaced MAP29's Gold with Maniac
v4.3 - Alpha, not released.
Replaced MAP09's Anitra with Terminator ][ song
v4.4 - Alpha, not released.
Replaced MAP19's Twin Peaks with Lucretia My Reflection
Replaced E2M5's Staying Alive with Lucretia My Reflection
Replaced E3M3's Twin Peaks with Naked Gun theme
Replaced MAP01's Staying Alive with Naked Gun theme
Replaced MAP08/E1M4's Roseanna with Halloween theme
INTRO and BUNNY musics are no longer replaced.
v4.5 - First public release.
Filename changed from D2MUSxx.WAD to UDMUSPxx.WAD.
Replaced MAP03/E2M7's Smooth Operator with Mission: Impossible
Replaced MAP24's version of Who Wants to Live Forever with Another
Brick in the Wall
v5.0 - Separated into DOOM1 and DOOM2 wads, for your convenience (if you
only have one game, you can delete the other game's WAD and save
disk space, or, if you have both, you can keep each game's WAD in
the game's directory, thus saving time typing in paths)
Musics completely moved around - see list file for details
v5.1 - Bug fix - v5.0 DOOM2 wad was not generated correctly due to typo
in Deutex control file, resulting in MAP11 having two musics (only
one of which played) and MAP17 having no patched music at all, so
correction was necessary
v5.2 - Changed Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen) to Exile (Iron Maiden).
Credits for MAP11, MAP16, MAP22, MAP30 music found and added.
Final release, unless someone gives me the credits for the last
uncredited song, in which case 5.3 will be released to include
this credit.
v5.2a - When v5.2 was uploaded to ftp.cdrom.com, it uploaded incorrectly.
The last 3kb of the file was cut. This is a re-transmit.
Identical WADs to 5.2.
v5.2b - Upload trouble again *sigh* THIS FRIGGIN SERVER! Email is being
sent to ftp.cdrom.com admins with respect to this...
Again, identical WADs to 5.2/5.2a.
v5.3 - Alpha, not released. Minor changes. Ceased giving the exact changes
between versions because it takes too much space in this file.
v5.9a1- Alpha, not released. Major removals and replacements of music.
Both 5.9 alphas created for DOOM II only.
v5.9a2- Alpha, not released. Shuffled musics around the levels again.
Finally quashed a minor inaccuracy - D_INTER is included in the
DOOM II wad but not used, as DOOM II uses D_DM2INT instead.
v6.0 - DOOM I 6.0 wad made. Not released, because 6.1 was created before
I got around to releasing this.
v6.1 - Final Public Release. Finally got around to disposing of those two
Madonna artifacts that had stuck around from all the way back in 4.0.
