Title : Nowhere-X
Filename : nowherex.wad
Author : The Waffle King (Dan Twomey)
Email Address : dantwo@freenet.edmonton.ab.ca
Misc. Author Info : Well, what exactly do you want to know?
I've been playing Doom2 for several
years. I think that I'm very good at it!
I also enjoy to play deathmatchs.
Description : This is the final release of the Nowhere
series.
This wad contains the first six levels
from the series, along with four new ones!
Ok, here's the low down....
Every level has an exit except the last one,
map 10. Every level also has a chainsaw
incase you and your DM partner(s) decide to
have a chop-a-thon. And the chainsaw is
usually at the exit. The main idea behind
this wad was to entertain. Levels on the web
can be small and fast, but they are usually
ugly to look at. Likewise, some levels look
good, but are far too big to use for a DM.
When I say this wad is to entertain you, I
mean the levels are small and fast, and
appealing to look at. The two together
make these levels the best you'll find!
TIP: Getting ths Plasma Gun and/or the BFG
is well worth your time, although there is
usually a high risk involved!
Map 1: (Nowhere 1)
This level doesn't need much explanation.
Besides, the only way it can be described
is "Intense!" All weapons are present
except the Plasma Gun.
Map 2: (new level)
This is the first of 2 levels that takes
place in the middle of the ocean. The
level is closed and you can't get out to
the water, but it helps give the effect of
being Nowhere. All weapons are present.
Map 3: (Nowhere 2)
This long aisle makes for a new kind of
deathmatch; fire and forget. Just lob
some rockets down the hall and you'll get
2-5 frags (depends on the number of opponents).
All weapons are present.
Map 4: (Nowhere 3)
This level was inspired by one of Mr. Doom's
levels from his Minipak (and Minipak2, and
Mr.Doom30) wad. There are 4 Rocket Launchers,
4 Super Shotguns, and 1 BFG9000. This map
is fun to play because the teleporters add
a little bit of 'relief' until you jump
back into the action. Expect a few tele-
frags and air-frags!
Map 5: (Nowhere 4)
Now, this is a good one! Each weapon
is positioned for optimal use, and it
makes you wonder which you should get first.
The Plasma Gun is easy to get. In fact,
it slows the pace down because of telefrags.
Ah, I'd rather use the Rocket Launcher anyway.
All weapons are present.
Map 6: (Nowhere 5)
The ultimate war zone! Grab a weapon, run
into the center room, and start shooting!
Once again you are faced with the fact that
having a bigger weapon is better. All
weapons are present.
Map 7: (new level)
"How would you like your Frag served, Sir?"
"Well, some rockets, shells and a side-order
of plasma would be great!"
You'll get plenty of really cool frags in
this level. All weapons are present
NOTE: BFG can only be gotten if you spawn
on it's platform.
Map 8: (Nowhere 6)
Well, it's certainly the smallest level I've
ever seen! Two players is a competition,
three is crazy! I'll leave you to decide
what a four player DM would be like!
Map 9: (new level)
This is the second level that is placed in
the middle of an ocean. There are two small,
indentical buildings across from each other
with weapons all over the place.
NOTE: BFG and Plasma Gun can only be gotten
if you spawn inside their 'cages'.
Map10: (new level)
This map is based on Dday3_7.wad by Brian
Martin. The wad was made for the Doomsday3
deathmatch tourney in Edmonton a couple
years ago. It's such a good level, I
decided I'd edit it and make it better!
The wad used custom textures, so I had to
remap most of the textures and flats to
Doom2's, and the result is a perfect level!
I also replaced the slow elevator with a
cool 'instant elevator'. All weapons are
present in this map.
