Requiem is definitely one of the best 5 map collections ever for Doom2. Enjoy!

Definately one of the best MegaWads I've ever played in my wad. Played all the way through it in one sitting! And, amen to the person that said it is better than Alien Vendetta. I agree 100%

As everyone else has said, this wad is definitely a classic, as much as the MM series is. This wad has the same idea (32 good levels by various authors) but pumps up the theming and detail over the MM series. In 2007, 10 years after this wad's 1997 release, some of the maps obviously look a bit dated, but even today, they're almost all pretty good. And they play great too. Easily a top 10 megawad of all time, and 5/5 is an obvious given.

The best Doom2 megawad I have ever played!!! I really like very nicely detailed maps, with plenty of architecture, nasty tricks, shadows, beauty!!!

Legendary surely, It was the best megawad around until Alien Vendetta got released. It has excellent gameplay and design. Some maps are real jewels of doom editing. But some or really too long, complex, crampy and not fun at all - 4/5 - PerOxyd

This is an outstanding mapset! It beats any other classic megawad, including Memento Mori! Most of the maps were pretty easy and short (with the exception of MAP23 which was damned hard and took me a lot of tries to beat). The design is very nice as well! A truly masterpiece. 5/5 -Doomer95

It has some impressive visuals for the time, and probably one of the first megawads to use fake 3D bridges. Dario Casali's last Doom 2 map, Hatred, is a highlight of the megawad for me, and a must play for anyone who likes Plutonia. Soundtrack is generally good too. Requiem does suffer a bit from being inconsistent, with a few maps late in feeling like they belong in a different wad entirely, though. And some levels can be a bit of a slog. A Good megawad overall, but I think the Memento Moris were more enjoyable, with MM2 being more polished too.

Real Score: 3.5

Back in '97, this was without doubt a 5/5 megawad. Now, late 2010, this still slaughters all but a very few attempts at wad making and is a shinning light to any wannabe creator. The only bad thing I can say is that there was no sequel. Score; an easy 5/5 *****

I don't really see what's so special about this really. Lots of large, hallwayish maps with obstructive detailing, everything looks so drab and samey. There are some really cool vanilla mapping tricks but this pales in comparison to either Memento Mori. Favorite authors would probably be Windsor or Czerwonka, but Dario beats everyone with Map23. Keranen really could have done with less railroading of progression and sticking high tier monsters in tight spaces where they can't harm you.

I really have fond memories of this one. It was pretty much the first custom megawad that impressed me. Medium difficulty, very detailed with amazing custom textures, and highly atmosferic designs. Many authors worked on this, and each of them brought his personal style into the episode,so it's very varied in style. But I like this approach more than tightly packed episodes where every level has to be in the same style to "fit together".I guess it's a matter of taste. 5/5 from me.

Timeless classic. If you happen to find Hell Revealed too hard and Eternal Doom too long and confusing, this is the way to go.

Only a fuckin idiot would give this anything below 5/5!! One of the wads that murder every single doom level set made after 2005!

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
