DIMENSIONS OF TIME

About This File

Scientists at UAC have created slipgates that go through different dimensions, as well as places in the past and future. Yet there was one dimension that they had overlooked - HELL'S Dimension. Unbeknownst to UAC, Hell had created their own slipgate to Earth's present, and used it to transport themselves to Earth, invade UAC, and then use UAC's slipgates to take over the world chronologically as well as internationally. Once UAC got ahold of the news, they sent you, their toughest marine, out to seek out the slipgate to the future. Once in the future, you have to exterminate all Hellish activity, then teleport to the past and do the same, and finally venture through Hell itself. This won't be easy. The whole world is counting on you!

I have mixed emotions on this megaWAD, it has its moments, sometimes interesting, sometimes not very interesting.  Was kind of fun to play

This was one of the fist PWADs I've played (along with Hell Revealed, big fucking difference) and even if it's not spectacular, it will be always one of my favorites.

It's funny that some people rate this wad low because of the author's age. At least the author made some efforts into this one than WOW.

The maps are weird and stuff, but this pack actually has a usage as something easy in UV.

While not necessarily a great megawad, it does have its moments. Techbase levels remind me of TNT

simple fun, too bad MAP07 is nearly impossible on a pistol start.

A pretty good set done in the nothing-like-the-ori ginal-maps style which made some classic megawads very popular in the 90s. Some of the detailing is quite basic by today's standards, and some is still clever and innovative. However, the gameplay holds up really well, if a bit on the easy side. Pretty impressive that a 13yo could make this, I couldn't map as well or as consistently when I was 23! Worth a play if you're after that old skool feel. 3/5

An average megawad, that I've enjoyed back in the days. Simple, fun, and not too hard. 3/5 -Moti

Well, You could a little Make oít better. Example there is this Skybox thing, where you can change the sky to a texture. That would make it look a little "Time Travelling". But though it has quite good levels else. And new monsters are never bad idea, if you dont use them too much.

It's pretty good for a one man job, especially for someone who was in 8th grade. There are a few interesting maps, most of them were kinda confusing. Some of the music was dumb. The titlepic is funky.

After playing "Coffee Break Ep.1", I was looking for more stuff from Matt and found this. It's amazing what he was able to pull off at such a young age. Certainly, you can't expect super-detailled maps here, but you get a megawad with maybe short and easy, yet fun and story-driven levels. There is a concept behind all this - and it shows. A couple of hours for this I didn't regret.

I'm not seeing what a lot of people see, apparently. These maps range from bad to average, and are largely boring and terrible from a pistol start. Age of the author shouldn't factor into a wad's quality. If a 6 year-old made WOW, it's still WOW. Just saying.

Whoever wrote that "Short Version: Bad", have a little respect, dude. The guy was only in 8th grade at the time, so cut him a little slack. Sorry if it's not up to your elitist standards, but that's life, bub. 4/5

I genuinely enjoyed this mod with its level design and music. It was challenging and interesting and it kept me playing a while after beating it to try to find anything. though I would say it was slightly repetitive and overwhelming with enemies at some moments.

Writing a review for Darkening 2 is tough. It's a beloved megawad, and for good reason. As many other reviewers have said, it is historically a very important project.   It was an important megawad for me personally. I fell in love with the first level in particular. The music, the realistic architecture, so reminiscent of the video games of the 90s... It all left a lasting impression. And it was one of the most beautiful wads I've seen at the time.   But I rarely played anyt

A competently made map, for sure, but fun? It's way too long and repetitive, with same-y combat & ambush scenarios used again and again, and with way too much enemies, and not that much of a challenge, even for me who isn't exactly fond of "SUPER HARD WAD #9263!!!!11!. You can cut the whole thing in half, and then cut THAT half in half, and it would be a better map. Is it bad? No, just a little bit above average, mostly because it drags a bit too long.

Generally good map design, but the difficulty as is the case with pwads tends to be uneven even on HMP, especially when you mix them with what slaughtermaps tend to be (monster spam). Too many parts where, after pressing a switch, you'll spend some time killing enemies only to realise the map maker tried to get cute and spawned a bunch of hidden archviles somewhere to start reviving everyone while you were busy wasting ammo. This is especially unfun in parts with very little cover where you'll b

I like the part where I pay for the numerous murders I committed by getting beaten up by either a Mancubus or an Arachnotron, it changed my outlook on Monster Priority. Thank you "Problematic" Revenant #7, I have yet to find a way to repay him.
