xdude_gamer Posted October 8, 2021 Does anyone have any plans to make a Community Chest 5? It's been awhile since 4 came out and I recently played a lot of those levels and thoroughly enjoyed them. 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
Dusty_Rhodes Posted October 9, 2021 I'm starting this soon. I have a plan written out, keep on the lookout for it. Maybe there's not a big audience for this, but I hope there is. 7 Quote Share this post Link to post
Gibbon Posted October 9, 2021 Yeah I love community chests. Though my mapping skills are circa 2002, which is when I stopped mapping and started programming :) 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

Mine are still stuck in the 90's . . . :D 6 Quote Share this post Link to post

Pretty much just a big melting pot of great levels. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Silver Age: 1994-1996 (the beginnings) Golden Age: 1996-2004 (TeamTNT, other community projects, lots of great WADs) Rustic Age: 2005-2008 (Everything was kind of... dying down) Bronze Age: 2008-2011 (Back to basics with GZDoom and brand new strategies) New Silver Age: 2012-2016 (Ah, yes. BTSX comes out with so much brand new stuff, it's all great and revives mapping) Platinum Age: 2017-present (So much stuff is coming out that is good. More DM, more GZDoom, more everything!) 6 Quote Share this post Link to post

I started playing doom in the Rustic Age when I was 10-11 because my dad showed me the game and let me play it but I didn't start learning how to map until the Bronze Age and I didn't make my first truly complete wad until the New Silver Age 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

xScavengerWolfx Posted October 9, 2021 If there is a community chest project i'll be down if it doesn't evolve UDMF format (i haven't learn how to correctly use that map format yet). But if it's Boom map format, sign me up because i like the boom map format for mapping. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Idk if I'd want to start it up since I'm trying to work on a Gothic21 project but if that goes nowhere I'll start on Chest 5. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Lorenz0 Posted October 9, 2021 The NOVA series can basically be considered the successor to Community Chest. Three entire cp's on a similar level of quality as cc4. 7 Quote Share this post Link to post

Infected Animal Posted October 10, 2021 If there was to be a CC5 do you all think it should have a general theme or just go with the flow like older CC's? 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
leodoom85 Posted October 10, 2021 Whoever wants to make CC5, better surpass the maps 20 and 21 from CC4. (The space maps that has a little story about destroying a dangerous AI). 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
NuMetalManiak Posted October 10, 2021 And Andy Leaver would make the MAP17. ;) 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Gangstalker Posted October 10, 2021 Legend says that to this day, Gene Bird is still in his house on Sesame Street, by his phone, waiting for the call about Community Chest 5. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post

Jacek Bourne Posted October 10, 2021 If you start community chest 5 then I'll most definitely contribute a combat puzzley map for it. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
