Various urban landscapes, desolated cities, abandoned streets and etc. And there is isn't much WADs that is centered around it. Many WADs have town levels only in the beginning or in the middle of action. Even my most beloved "HellFire" series have Hellish maps. This isn't a bad thing, but I just want more urban levels! This is how idea of this community project was born in my head. And... Yes. This is a community project which is all about city/town/urban theme. This is my very first community project that is hosted by me. If there is any problems with simple things - please don't throw a pair of slippers at me. Thanks. There is a ton of places that can be converted into Doom map. Shopping & entertainment center? Sure. Just street with some backalleys? Yes. Airport? Graveyard? Village? And it is keep going. Show your best to the community of those Doomers, who is as big lovers of city-themed maps as you! Technical Details: Spoiler 🔻 Our targeted IWAD is "Doom2.wad". 🔻 Our targeted source-port is "DSDA-Doom". 🔻 Our targeted map format is "MBF21". Rules Is Simple: Spoiler 👉 Monster count varies from 50 to 150. Not less, maybe a little more. Personally, I hate slaughtermaps. Entire vibe is about exploration. 👉 Map must be able to completed w/o jumping, crouching and mouselook. Be very accurate with "G1/GR" triggers placement. 👉 Difficulty levels gonna be very appreciated. Before final of this CP we can implement them together, if you have struggle with it. 👉 Avoid Death Exit that is causing inventory loss. We expecting to player have some fun. Pistol Start is option, not duty. 👉 Not sure about multiplayer stuff, like additional things for Coop and/or DM. It is on your own. Custom Resources? Spoiler Sure, there is very popular "ComaTex" (formerly known as "RWLTex"), but I wanted to give a chance to one very underrated texture pack. Allow me to present a "Realistic Texture Pack", that gonna be our little star in the endless void. Using stock "Doom 2" textures isn't prohibited, but please make focus on the custom ones while constructing your level. Custom skies & MIDIs is good too. Publication Template! Spoiler Please use this simple form while submitting your own entry for this CP: 🔸 Map Name🔸 Author 🔸 Music 🔸 Ports Tested (at least, use "DSDA-Doom" with MBF21 compatibility) 🔸 Difficulty Settings (it is gonna be very nice) 🔹 Multiplayer Stuff (if it has any) 🔹 Description (this field is completely optional) 🔹 Notes (this is optional too) DeadLine? That was mine idea, so I must do something too. 🔸 Map Name: "Not A Kingpin".🔸 Author: RastaManGames. 🔸 Music: "Duke Nukem 3D" - "Taking The Death Toll". 🔸 Ports Tested: "DSDA-Doom". 🔸 Difficulty Settings: Implemented (Easy -> K:51/I:40/S:5, Medium -> K:56/I:40/S:5, Hard -> K:55/I:40/S:5). 🔹 Multiplayer Stuff: Few DM starts that was tossed around the map along with SSGs. 🔹 Description: These backalleys not only dark, but very dangerous. And there is not gonna be any thugs and punks. Only posessed humans and Hellish creatures. But there is must be a way out of this Hell's hole, right? Yes. It is. You must find it and get out of this damned place that is no longer belongs to living beings. Good luck with that! By the way, there is still might be something useful for smart guy like you. 🔹 Notes: This not must be taken as mood setup for entire CP. Just my move to engage someone to make their own map with these custom textures. The title is resembling, why there is few places that looks like ones from "Skidrow" district from "Kingpin: Life Of Crime" videogame. This is not a 120% copy. Map was made with fresh mind by my hands. Only image of Skidrow was in my head. And MBF21 is still essentially Boom, albeit greatly extended. RastaManGames Posted September 13, 2022 "Realistic Texture Pack" was changed according to @MFG38's suggestion (using ANIMATED instead of ANIMDEFS). Some "ping-pong" animations was impossible to make due to existing naming system that was made by author of this texture pack (just pure RFLAT1-RFLAT198 without something like RFMET01 or RFWOOD01 and etc.), but main part (the magic TV) is working now. If I hit F6 to choose displayed mapping formats I can't find anything about MBF21. Sorry, I only mapped in "Boom: Doom 2 (Doom Format)" so far. Xaser Posted September 13, 2022 If you're targeting MBF21, you also basically have UMAPINFO available as well, so there's no need to stick to the tired old 32 map format. You're free to tailor the maplist around the submissions you get (and even set up episodes or proper secret maps if you want) rather than try and shove everything into the old format. 7 Quote Share this post Link to post

I don't know if I will be available, but if this projects stills for a long time I propably can do something. I don't have a large expectations about total maps number, but it is gonna be really good if we can make, at least, something around ~15 maps.
