Doom Eternal is listed on Amazon to be released December 28th of this year. Does anyone have confirmation on this or is this just a placeholder release date?

Yes, I am sure that Doom Eternal will be released on a Friday, 3 days after Christmas.

I wish but I don't see it coming out till at least another year.  My guess is Oct 2019.

Probably placeholder, it's quite doubtful that we'll see a 2018 release for Eternal. Summer/Fall 2019 sounds much more reasonable.

Yeah, the end of December is usually a placeholder date until something else is firmed up.

Not to be the bearer of bad news but sites like GameStop are using a date of 12/31/2019. Which means that somebody somewhere has told them not to realistically expect it sooner than 2020.

official site just says 2019.   That is a 12 month window.  We could get it in january or next xmas

Mentioned it in another thread, but I'm sure they will give out some kind of date when they premier the game play trailer at Quakecon this August.

I hope it doesn't overlap too much with Rage 2. That would be marketing suicide.
