MaxTrevors Posted August 12, 2018 Do you like it? Stuff like Autechre. I use a program called mixtikl to make this stuff. It's pretty basic, but interesting and cool. My band camp has 5 Procedural tracks lined up. I also have a sound clud with all kinds of music. My bandcamp has various other kinds of music too. https://noisehelmet.bandcamp.com/track/gruggets https://noisehelmet.bandcamp.com/track/mothman-is-in-here 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Reisal Posted August 14, 2018 (edited) I was super interested in the program used to make it (I love procedural generation) until I saw it's limitations on Windows. Edited August 14, 2018 by Glaice 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Was it Wotja? I use an older predecessor program called mixtikl. There's tons of ways to make procedural music. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Do tell me, I know on that crazy website that lets you make MIDIs. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Immorpher Posted August 22, 2018 There's a lot of room left to explore in procedurally generated music. I remember back in the day most of it was to generate MIDI notes or utilized pre-existing loops. Do newer ones generate custom synthesizer sounds as well (that is the instrument is procedural changed)? On the synthesis side, I programmed my own using MATLAB (not friendly for the general market) to generate creepy sounds that I use in music. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
MaxTrevors Posted August 23, 2018 Mixtikl and wotja does a lot more than just rearrange notes. It's really hard to describe. Generative music now is really complex and one of the most esoteric ways i've ever ever tried to make music. I mostly use synthesizers and drum machines for my music 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
MaxTrevors Posted August 23, 2018 It can also be frustrating for some people I think. I can spend an hour working on something and save it and when i load it, everything is slightly different. The software does what it wants to do. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Immorpher Posted August 25, 2018 Interesting, I'll have to give it a try. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
