DooM_RO Posted August 12, 2018 Is it just me or is the speed slower than in 2016? Even the PC segment seemed slower to me. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Catpho Posted August 12, 2018 Well, how are you gonna control midair with SANIC speed? Or you are talking about general speed? Seems decent enough for me. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Dragonfly Posted August 12, 2018 General movement looked about the same but with the additions of the grappling hook and 'horizontal boosters' I feel like the movement tech allows you to go a lot faster (save for any speedrunner-style exploits). 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Tuskin38 Posted August 12, 2018 It was probably still a bit slower so you could actually see stuff happening in the video and not a giant blur. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
flouter Posted August 12, 2018 I think it's just that you are used to a different FOV. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Mr. Freeze Posted August 12, 2018 The first Doom 2016 demos looked slow as fuck, and then the game releases and it's much faster. I think it's the same scenario here. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
Man of Doom Posted August 12, 2018 The default movement looked about the same as Doom 2016, it’s just that all the advanced movement (grappling, dashing, etc.) just made the default movement look slower in comparison. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Xfing Posted August 13, 2018 My impressions were entirely opposite, with the dashing ability and the meathook you can now move around as wickedly fast as in quake 3 arena, so it seems. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Chris Hansen Posted August 13, 2018 The first part looked slow. I think they played it on a console, because the developers asked the audience if they wanted to see another demo, this time on a PC and that looked a lot faster! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
bloodshot Posted August 13, 2018 Honestly looked about as slow as 2016 was until i cranked the FOV up 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
