snapshot Posted January 6, 2021 (edited) Because it is a single player game that most people have finished or put off because of updates, or because of work, It's not a multiplayer looter shooter or something. there will be more waves of people returning to it with the updates and once more content is released. seed Posted January 6, 2021 It is still abnormal for a game to lose such a large part of its player base so quickly, singleplayer or not. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
snapshot Posted January 6, 2021 (edited) It's normal, happened to many other singleplayer games, this isn't news, it's just clickbait, and considering people were home due to the pandemic or the holiday season It makes sense they binged through the most hyped game of the year. seed Posted January 6, 2021 Perhaps you are right. I guess only time will tell, after more patches and DLCs. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Cacodemon345 Posted January 6, 2021 Dude, Witcher 3 Wild Hunt lost 79% of its playerbase in 3 months. Cyberpunk 2077 lost that same percentage of playerbase in a mere 1 month. Which is not going to be a good sign. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
snapshot Posted January 6, 2021 (edited) Witcher 3 has a longer Singleplayer campaign than Cyberpunk, it takes about 30 hours to finish Cyberpunk, compared to Witcher 3 which takes about 50 hours to finish. Still Top Seller, still 3 times the all time peak of Witcher 3 and still top 5 played on just Steam alone. Edited January 6, 2021 by sluggard 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Murdoch Posted January 6, 2021 Given how excited people were for the game, likely adopted a go hard and early approach on playing it, and that many of the players are home on lockdown giving them more time to finish it quickly, I would expect no less. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
snapshot Posted January 7, 2021 (edited) Been smooth and mostly free of bugs on PC at least, video's less relevant now after patches lol Edited January 8, 2021 by sluggard 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
snapshot Posted January 8, 2021 (edited) I finished my first full run with a "run & gun build" as a nomad male V, done all major main and side quests. Spoiler I like the story about V trying to stop his terminal illness and get Johnny out of his mind, they get along in the end and let V control his own body, depending on choices you make after PoNR, one other ending included suicide Lol, but made me feel so bad for the characters in the credits, poor judy :( then this music comes in and hits you hard Been a huge time sink, love the characters, misty, jackie, viktor, judy, evelyn, panam, saul, mitch, goro, river... the soundtrack, the radio tracks and just the overall atmosphere of Night City. Pacifica beach is probably my favorite spot in the city. The weapons feel so good to use, especially once you get the hang of the dodge, grenade toss then shoot grenade trick, even the swords and sticks, fists are the only thing that feel a little underwhelming in terms of combat (especially noticeable during the Beat the Brat quests) This beast right here is my absolute favorite in the game right now, so satisfying. Great use of the first-person perspective in many key moments, even the side jobs are like their own mini stories, some of the best moments of the game are hidden behind those. Spoiler Like the quest of the corpo couple that are being manipulated and the quest where you help river find out what happened to the kid. Currently on my second run as a street kid, complete with a mohawk cut to go with, going for a melee build this time, finished starting quest of Corpo as a female V and put that aside to finish Street Kid run first, seemed like a better order to go about it. Fists are all about the gorilla arms. I got a rare set. Gorilla arms, stamina & health drug buff made that quest line really easy 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Dragonfly Posted January 12, 2021 This was easily one of my most enjoyable single player expieriences in the last 10 years. 6 Quote Share this post Link to post
Zylinderkatze Posted January 12, 2021 I have to admit I loved how the "forced" first person view (as in, CDPR insisted on keeping it first person, afaik) makes so much sense Spoiler when you finish the game (not sure if that's already too much of a spoiler?) ..it made me actually go "of course.. what a great decision" out loud. And none of this is sarcastic. I legitimately loved many or most of their creative choices in visuals and writing. It's true what they said on a "bugs in cyberpunk" video the other day (not sure which channel it was).. something among the lines of how when two people who played the game (on a system that can generally run it), after talking about all the technical bugs it might have.. still in the end say "but it's a damn good game though". 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Cacodemon345 Posted January 12, 2021 Despite the bugs, I would argue CDPR improving the performance and fixing some of them makes me want to play it in the future. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

AnotherGrunt Posted January 13, 2021 Ok , so I just found very interesting article (in Polish): Can the false statements of a computer game producer be of interest to the President of UOKIK? but you know what is the saddest part? It had to happen to CDPR (Polish company). Companies like EA, Gearbox Software, Ubisoft – no big deal. They resides in different country with different Consumer protection laws. This is really sad. More so if eventual fine will be imposed because 10% from CDPR revenue are even now milions. Allow me to quote: Quote The average gamer is a consumer who reckons that the game may contain minor bugs, and is unaccustomed to it by other publishers. This is not a favorable situation for consumers, but many publishers rely on this assumption and consumers receive underdeveloped games that are repeatedly updated after release. However, the games are not only bought by players. People who buy games as gifts are also a consumer of this type of products (we have a pre-Christmas period and the moment of the forced launch was not insignificant). Such a consumer relies only on a marketing message, including graphics and photos on boxes, and less frequently on materials published on the Internet. Ok and what happened to good old practice of releasing playable demo before releasing finished game/product? Why people even pre-order something they didn't had chance to try as playable demo? Don't forget, in sharware times you had chance to play like good ⅓ of content for free and if that was any good you could order (not pre-order!) finished game. What happened to that? 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Mr. Freeze Posted January 18, 2021 Quote The best thing is that they didn't acknowledge 95% of this, they are just sorry for "not making the PS4 and XBOX One versions run like they should", the rest of the problems doesn't seem to exist for them From the comments of the above video. 100% true and depressing. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
